But where the hell has the Panasonic SD707 actually hidden the manual record level (which should be present according slashCAM test)? Neither the manual states that a still s.der Camera button to find any.

I hope times that has no inflation in the menus of the SD300 to SD707 done so much! The HDC-SD300 GEHTS like this: Menu> Capture Settings> scroll down to mic level> of "too automatic" switch "Setup + AGC. Then you are synonymous already there:)
