how well you can find the Panasonic NV GS 120th I own at the moment SonyHandycam HC 23 and the Panasonic would get quite pricey.

Is it really an improvement?

without ever really in the hands to have had, but purely on the data and the Comparison with similar models:

Yes, this should be a huge step forward! Taking in a device used to some extent the cat in a bag to buy, what the condition of the drum head is concerned.
