if you want to quickly figure it out, you take your camera with an MM or Saturn and compare it easily with a camera there.

So I have synonymous, the NV-GS180 and feel absolutely no vibration. Similarly, in ninth feature synonymous only hear some noise, either from the drive even when zooming.
I use only Panasonic tapes of (AY-DVM60YE, best suited for 3CCD). Maybe it's s.dem DV tape that you use?
If there is a mechanical damage, I would exchange the unit. But trying to time the tip of @ steveb and test it in a MM etc. out.
Otherwise, I am 100% satisfied with the camcorder.

Seriously: As the "nv", the Panasonic nv-gs 180 for "no vibration" is, perhaps unfortunately, the camera is defective.
