It is planned this year (before start of the holiday) to buy a new camcorder and my old Cam (SonyPC1 of 1998, Mini-DV), while still making relatively good videos, but the HD era has begun again.
Times I was fixated on the HDV models (HC9, HV 20/30 / (40)) but I personally see AVCHD in the winner and a longer trip around the world (per tape) is not synonymous planned. SonySR12 Then followed the purchase had then moved to the XR500/550 and am now - I of the improved sensitivity of the Sony550 heard (and test video I saw) - ended up with this model.

GPS (nice to have)
Panasonic Pro:
50p (vs. future security. BluRay standard??)
Contra Panasonic:
50p judder play
I would possibly get a piece of the BD350 or (120 ¬)
there is certainly a little growth in the near future, so it will "Ruckelfrei" - AVCHD player, so BluRay players that can give AVCHD will.
Editing software:
Vegas, for example, 9 has no problems with 50p
Bluray:
24p shots are perfect, good fast sport events are certainly better at 50p.
SD
Panasonic already uses the new generation of SD cards, but in a 32er, 16er synonymous been a really fit) enough on it (for my purposes.

My answer to you does not help. Wanted to dazugesellen only as a misfortune. Now I'm still waiting until I can once the cameras in your hand and then decide. It has been written so far, but no one has written so far of Practice report. My tendency is towards Sony. The Lowluxverhalten of the previous models speaks for me, as to what should be on the same Niveu. Added to that is still synonymous improved wide angle. The manual operations are restricted to two, since the size of the equipment is too small anyway. My desire for a TRV 900 with current technology is likely to remain a wish.

I'll join, wants to buy synonymous rechtzteitig before the holiday, a new Camera and vacillate between Sony (HDR CX550 - find Flash better than hard drive) and Panasonic (SDR-TM700) with the tendency to Sony. For Sonyspricht for me especially the larger wide angle.
What is currently unsettled me: I have now synonymous in the user guide and read here on forum that is active in the stabilization mode, "ACTIVE" s. below the end of the zoom range is limited, but it is Nirg how much ...

After lengthy discussions and forth between different cameras, I am now than last come to a choice between the Pana 707 and the JVC GZ-HM400 (or successor HM1). After the test Comparison between the pictures of the HM400 un SD 300 I tend to HM400. The only thing I s.der Pana are more interested in the wide-angle, the face recognition and the 50p, but at the price difference?
