Dear All,
once again need your help or a good idea.
So I built last year, my first camera crane.
The crane arm with 3.2 kilograms was pretty easy, at 5.5 m maximum attainable altitude.
Now I'm s.meinem coming off a crane that will be really easy because I so synonymous to climb volcanoes and a lot of traveling on rough terrain am.
Under my "debut" I had for a small horizontal swivel of Novoflex Panorama Plate, which was synonymous silk. Unfortunately, they did not arrest but, despite locking because of the leverage on the boom in the wind was simply stronger.
So my question. Maybe someone knows a way how I can swing the crane horizontally and still in the case of cases, these functional blocks synonymous / get off, giving me only vertically swings? Is there something other than s.Markt panorama plates, how is it resolved in other Leichtkränen? Unfortunately could not find anything on the Internet.
The fork arm, I will produce from carbon fiber using blow molding, and therefore am now of an effective and easy as possible solution depends, as I realize the shape of the fork portion only when the pivoting mechanism definitively established. The crane is on a 75 mm Bowl of my Manfrotto 525th
Have a well-equipped workshop is available with lathe and milling machine. So I am very flexible.

Budget For commercial (-) has cranes down just a (light) tripod, which ends in a vertical pipe with plastic lid. The crane itself then has a matching Gegenrohr, which is simply placed over it. If you now through the two pipes bohrst transversely to the rotational direction of a hole, you can avoid a plugged-in with (backup) pin that the crane accidentally turns.
Simple but very effective design, if reasonably well the components fit together!
Could be a good movie, of course, synonymous with video tripod head to use, which synonymous and equal to the tilting pan worried. The boom is then simply daraufgeschoben with a retractable head on the video camera base plate. Done! Lug - In this way you have a bomb movie stand here and actually have only the jib and the counter-weights!

with the tripod, the film is basically a good idea, especially because of the cable attenuation and the round going, but they are installed so that the possibility of vertical equalization of a digital camera via, since a camera swiveling head geometrically different behavior as a fork head, it s.welchem is a fixed element (s.kamera remains horizontal during the panning, b: camera pans to opposite kranarmbewegung and retains the object) in the picture.
if you are so well equipped shop repairs building you're your own panorama plate when you are two to three times its diameter as large as the NOVOFLEX attaches you only need half or even third force to the lock arm to a greater evt with locking lever or star attacked and the crane will remain standing.
And: there sowas not finished, plus the requirement is too specific, I've searched on these matters even in google the wolf.

Must I now make only idea which system I would use.
The solution with the piece of pipe is super simple and very easy to implement and easy synonymous still correct :-).
A panoramic plate scale and easy to replicate but synonymous its charm.

What do you need a larger panorama head?? Should I convert the variant with the scaled panorama head, then you can put yourself since dranhängen perhaps with?

I was in search of larger panorama heads, as a substitute for a 1-path fluid damping (using "half" tightened screw), which I will wire axis for a manual control (both!) establish the camera on a crane, a traditional head work because its geometry is not so brüchte 2 pcs of them, but this project is due to lack of time on ice.

What do you need a larger panorama head?? Simple lever principle: If you can attack the same clamping force twice as far from the center of rotation, they just need (on the basis of twice the length of the lever from the center to Kraftansetzpunkt) only half the clamping force. With triple the radius of the turntable, only one third. For quadruple radius only ... Now ... dus find out? ;-)
But I would probably not fit clamping device rather kick it just a hole in the top and a matching thread in the lower turntable. So you can stop by screwing in a simple screw the Rotate. Here too, you could work with a backup stattdessn sapwood. Again: Simple and foolproof!

the with the splint or the screw has the disadvantage of a fixed crane arm pointing, one would have to rotate the tripod to the fixed arm to reorient, probably more practical video with a tripod, lights would go there with a tripod, you could turn the excerpts.

Get the tube butts probably first build version and then in a further step, the panorama plates steamed version.
If the panorama option should be ripe for decision, I can still touch base again. Have at home, only a small cutter with no control and, unfortunately, synonymous only s.Arbeitsplatz Kunzmann-mill, where I can only raise one each axis milling can therefore no curves or radii. Know some people, however, where such a thing possible ;-).
If the program is entered once into the machine, then there is no preference, whether I'm a piece or 10 of them hiller. Because really only come to somewhat higher material costs for the additional parts. That decreases the time required for each part produced more significant and makes things so much cheaper.
My idea to your problem would be simply a larger disc draufzuschrauben with circumferential groove / groove on a normal panoramic head, which has again a top Imperial thread. That would be super cheap and very quickly realize the scaled and would unnecessarily heavy DIY panorama head really make it completely unnecessary!

Weight is not my problem had already cranes with a total weight of 1.2 tonnes of hand, synonymous with the motto to the heavier the more quietly, with the groove and the disc is clear, my thought was synonymous fluidgedämpft more genuine in direction, then I was pushed here in the forum on the panorama plates idea, which I am not yet satisfied concludes, because an alternative would be sowas great homemade very interesting (in order to better and more adjustable friction than conventional panorama plates), register it if it does.

I just tried the Novoflex pan head to disassemble. But is not so simple. Indeed want to break anything ;-).
Let's see how Novoflex has realized the Attenuation.
In your case, you might kill perhaps synonymous 2 old fluid heads.

I thought it synonymous already at, do but then again more complex as fluid damping is based on oil or fat and full of fun should be well packed "" otherwise it's just dirty oil, my idea is more and more in the direction of the large pplatte if I am having the screw a little piece of oiled leather clamp I have a very good adjustable friction Vinten, has by his older studio heads in the pre-fluid-era made well in order to achieve attenuation.

The old stuff is so synonymous not so bad work. Then again, there are a lot to learn. If I had the panoramic record deal, I know a bit more ;-). But stay tuned s.dem issue in any case, since things are subdued to act better and better and promise better pictures.

Had the screw completely removed beforehand. But could the upper plate tilted only slightly, but not remove.
Meanwhile, I have the rubber, which normally rests on the camera away. But there is nothing to see. I only see that in the middle of a part made of brass and consists of the edge of aluminum. Both are pressed together.

At the bottom there is nothing outside of the hole with the 3 / 8 "thread.
Just looking for a longer 3 / 8 "screw to pull the trigger, the upper part easy. If it breaks, I've had bad luck. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the intelligence synonymous ;-)!

The fat, I have not been removed. Should therefore be sufficient. Difficult, the sheet is to be recorded which is fastened with 4 small screws in the lower section.
