Frage von limaudio:I am looking for a DV camera with the best possible Stillimage characteristics. Which is recommended?
Is the Panasonic NV-GS400 for them? What are the disadvantages of this camera compared to an explicit Stillimage-camera, apart of the slightly lower resolution (4 million)? It satisfies the demands of ambitious amateur photography?
Thanks for your tips!

It satisfies the demands of ambitious amateur photography? No..
It satisfies the demands of the holiday clippers. So if you previously with a Compact Analog Camera uncle and aunt were on the road and have photographed it to you, however, was no preference whether the synonymous Stillimage was beautiful, as long as his uncle and aunt's smile on it, despite the sawed-off legs, then the ok for you.
If you want to develop your beautiful landscape pictures, sports photography, night shots, etc. So just "ambitious amateur photography" 10x15, then you need a separate digital camera.

Grovel is absolutely right.
The Wide Angled Most video cameras are synonymous misserabel without converters, the CCD size very often just too small. Good Videocam's have 1 / 3 "(of which 3 are ok but you can not 3x 1 / 3 sum up, it is probable, however, with each of the 3 CCD 1 / 3" is better than 1x 1 / 3 ")
In fact, almost every digicam's Cam has a 1 / 2, 5 "to CCD (the 150 ¬) or 1 / 1, 8" zb SonyW 5 (about 200 ¬) next to 2 / 3 "(500 ¬), 4 / 3 "Olympus SLR or Canon EOS 5D with Vollformatchip.
The small sensors will be synonymous as always, the enormous depth of field strongly criticized (sometimes synonymous desired) a really good portrait Stillimage is with the GS 400 or similar with some not to get shut down.
