Poor text quality after compression + MPG flicker on LCD
Frage von boardkiller: Oktober 2005
Hello,
I have a 2-min. Presentation created, which will operate in the loop on an LCD monitor.
Usually we see a Stillimage and a text box (white) to red. It moves so - except for small animations and transitions - not really much in this film.
When I now with the max. Data rate of 9 Mbit / s compress (encoredvd or After Effects - have tried both, no difference), the Articles very indistinct. The result is something like a drop shadow around the blown-out letters, although there is supposed to be None. In addition, changes s.schmalen bodies the color of bright red text on dark red / black The film is s.end only about 50 MB in size. Space for more information, I would still speak on the DVD.
Can I at the MainConcept encoder still somewhere a fine tuning to make the text on still images? Or use an even higher data rate?
Furthermore, I see s.bestimmten image areas on the presentation line flicker like the LCD Television. I thought the LCD technology has been such problems do not exist any more. Am I wrong?
Best regards, board killer

Hello,
the described effects (flicker, color changes) are unusual.
Your goal is to present a video on an LCD monitor. In this case, you could export the video as an AVI file (progressive, as with the Lossless codec HuffYUV) and the player software to make looping.

But if it is to be played on a regular DVD player, then this solution is difficult. Basically, there are some combinations of colors and RGB color settings with the presentation on PAL TVs, so should the color might be slightly changed and adapted in the limited space.
Or read here once synonymous, the good: http://www.tfh-berlin.de/~fleisch/downloads/mpeg.pdf

The idea with AVI + Lossless codec is actually a bit "too easy". The whole is supposed to run on a DVD player.
Thanks for the links!
In After Effects gibts so the plug-in "colors for broadcast. That changes my red (255/0/0) but very strong (182/0/0). This has not much to do with the official corporate color. Then let me change the colors but prefer the encoder, which is not so violent. Or overlook what am I?
The mpeg-PDF is a short time and Animation stressed that as an encroachment on DCT and quantization may be useful. My presentation is indeed zeichentrickähnlich (pure land, Articles, harsh contrasts,) almost real image. Is there somewhere a Instructions?

Hello board killer
How You Create presentation? And above all, because what were the basic settings for the resolution?
For me, sounds like the first time as if the presentation was created in a lower resolution and was then inflated with the DVD-creation to 720x576. This then results in a worse picture!

The Resolutionpasst already. In After Effects 720x576 with square pixels.
