Hello,
I would have before one of Canopus (GM) NX to something larger upgrade.
The Choice of the hardware have the extensive IO capabilities (SD SDI, HD SDI) and the good codec support (AVCHD, DVC PRO HD, P2, etc.) priority.
I work in. Z. Edius with 4:54 and 9:12 Samplitude Classic. Although I with two (very) satisfied, I have before moving to Adobe CS3 (mainly due to AE and Encore: BR-authoring), because it is widespread, a better overall workflow and provides the hardware support synonymous (Edius is only of GM hardware supports it) is better.
I have the impression that the GM-hardware solutions are relatively expensive. (With SD SDI: EUR 4300, - with HD SDI: about EUR 7000, -)
My question would be whether you - the basis of the above requirements - synonymous the Adobe package makes sense and what hardware would you choose.
I could imagine the following alternatives
- Matrox Axio HD (I do not know it)
- Motu V3HD (IO extensive, possibly immature, with only HD DVC PRO HD codec)
- AJA Xena LH or 2K (I do not know it)
- Possibly a suitable BMD card / interface (positive opinions)
What part and why would you prefer.

I think cs3 significantly worse for the average solution.
synonymous, the good and the codec procoder missing.
will be better with a maximum of Final Cut Pro and the apple codec.

Yes, I see the synonymous. But I do not know of CS3, I do not know whether the advantages and disadvantages are offset.
Namely, if I see that I am - a valid SDI Canopus card to buy - EUR 4300, - and this issue needs further adding at least AE (approximately EUR 1400, -) and Encore (? 500-600, -). Then it is definitely financially better if I for EUR 3000, - a Motu Converter buy or an AJA Xena and of EUR 2500, - a Production Premium package. Then I from EUR 5500, - a much more uniform solution.
Purely mathematical, it is already better. The Adobe solutions are already as a professional. So bad, they are not. The pure cut is probably not so quickly go.
Is there perhaps someone synonymous even before the election was the same?

BMD s.Mac cards are absolutely normal and common. Proceed with the Edius? For under 5000 Euro you get a Mac, Final Cut Studio and a DeckLink HD card with HD-SDI and improved performance. The Matrox matters, however, have almost pharmacies prices. Under 10,000 euros for a Gesamtsytem do not you come. HD-SDI is nothing special. If Windows is essential, then Premiere CS3 and a DeckLink HD Extreme. HD-SDI for 999 + 1000 euros for Premiere (or 2500 euros for Production Premium) instead of 7000 euros. However, it is synonymous premiere again a compromise. FC Studio (999 euros), of the professional formats next and much cheaper. If you absolutely want Edius, it will be expensive.

And the cost are just a point - the other point is always the thing you is incorporated, and whether one wants to work next in order or not. And whether you want to do massive relearning, and the time has.
