"Only" because Premiere 6.5 is quite old. The extent to which this software with Premiere Elements can compare, I do not know. The Elements Series is holding more s.Einsteiger.

Premiere is the title blurred in the preview, if this has not yet been rendered. Try the ENTER - button press. Wait. And then the red and green you can all look sharp and unnecessary. Perhaps this is indeed it.
The "quick" flashes could be explained synonymous. Otherwise you can crossfades yes pull longer.
