Frage von ArnAuge:Hello beinand,
had with Premiere Pro CS3 is a very annoying problem:
About every two to three weeks, when opening the program all the presets "forgotten". The Welcome screen displays the current projects is not to the brightness level of the program interface is back to default, as well as the work drives and all other parameters in the "Preferences".
A new installation of Premiere and even of Windows XP (SP3) brought nothing. The Adobe support is clueless and I was able after three weeks only email traffic for reinstalling guess.
I know that Premiere is not just a Tophits is (had previously Liquid Edition), but because I very much with Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects to do,'s has offered.
Do you advice?
Preliminary gratitude ever!
Arno
Antwort von Debonnaire:
I observe the same problem, but not quite so often!
However, I am almost sure that it's not Adobe's problem, but somewhere in Windows is justified. Permissions that are (temporarily?) An application of Windows no longer be allowed and thus prevent the user profile back what is written.
If anyone was more specific about this problem and its remedy vorallem knows synonymous but I'm very interested!
Antwort von ArnAuge:
Hello Debonnaire,
it brings us, not next, but somehow reassuring, a fellow sufferers to have :-)
As a small supplement also:
In "C: \ Documents and Settings \ ARNO \ Application Data \ Adobe" folder is the "Premiere Pro" for such a sudden crash twice. The second is in contrast to the first, only the "Trace Database.txt" document, but only with two lines. This or folder to delete it, unfortunately brings nothing. The preferences that would be - if I understand it - even in the first folder "Premiere Pro" all present. Only the sadly ignored by the program.
Perhaps we are still on it ...
Greetings!
Arno
Antwort von Debonnaire:
What I, as a workaround solution to make is exactly the tree "... \ I \ Andwendungsdaten \ Adobe \ ..." secure, times when everything has gone well. From there I can then selectively directories or files in the active directory tree to C: to copy, which usually brings the settings back.
Antwort von ArnAuge:
This works? - I've just tried that, the detailed contents of the first PP folder (with all remaining settings), now ignored by the app, in the second copy.
Unfortunately, the program creates when opening but "to-come-hell-out" a new folder. But perhaps it is indeed the case that the folder contents so BEFORE a "crash" must have copied - like you do it.
Very cryptic, the whole thing!
Antwort von Debonnaire:
Absolutely not "cryptic", but the standard approach in computer science! Or have you ever heard that you have a backup AFTER a problem the system has to be paralyzed THIS backup and expects that the problem will be solved? ;-)
Antwort von ArnAuge:
Since you have absolutely right of course! When a backup is one such an approach so familiar.
Only here? After the problem does not occur with other applications, the suggest that the Adobe program, at least not fully Windows compliant program has - synonymous when it was originally an error / failure of Microsoft to be.
Would be interesting to know whether the problem is synonymous with another, or the new version of Premiere Pro occurs. Hopefully someone still logs.
Until then I will look at your recipe.
Danke schon mal and lovely greetings to Switzerland!
