Hey Guys,
I have a question about when Vegas 9 Pro (64bit).
I cut the time a making-of what I film with my SonyEricsson Satio.
The format is: MP4 / 864x480 (16:9) / 24fps
Project setting in Vegas: 1280x720p / 25fps
Preview setting: Preview (Auto) with a 640x360 and 25fps Resolutionvon
Now I got the problem that the videos jerk sometimes, especially with incision between two settings.
Especially unclear to me is the jerky, therefore, I use an Intel Core i7 920, which is a maximum capacity of 20%.
Real-time effects, I use for the Project not, not even transitions.
For the sound I leave a compressor working in real time.
My system:
- Windows 7 (64bit)
- Intel Core i7 920
- 12 GB DDR3 Ram
- 2 x 750GB
- NVidia GeForce GTX 285 (1GB Ram)
The PC is used as a pure system and will cut with nothing (antivirus, etc. charged), it is not synonymous s.Internet (for updates).
What could be due to preview the jerky? And what can you do?

have you checked the files with vlc or similar views?, jerky, perhaps already the swelling material.

Yes, I'm always after they were filmed with the latest version of VLC player looked through that the source material is jerky because I noticed so far very rare.
In Vegas jerky because it has a lot more of what you recognize synonymous fact that when you preview the fps sometimes drops to 10 fps. What it actually indicates that the PC is too weak, but I would not my system inscribedable just as weak.

Pass first time, the project settings to the source material, it's so on 864x480p24.

The question is how busy the individual nuclei. Then, if one core is busy rumdümpeln and the others, then Vegas used to decode just one nucleus, which now would not be surprising.

The project setting I have now adjusted, are synonymous, a slight improvement.
What is still incomprehensible to me, however, which is sometimes the fps drop to 10 fps and the processor is busy only 15%.
I mean, even if Vegas would not use all cores, the CPU utilization would be larger, or? Why do I have otherwise a leistungfähigen Processor?

If the decoder decodes the crappy stuff has been programmed - then you use is not even the fastest processor.
The only improvements that could be reached here would only be at a higher core clock speed (3.8 Ghz would be faster than 2.67 GHz).
You could (if I'm not mistaken) the material of synonymous try to have a different decoder decode. But you'd have time for you "ffdshow" look in the 64 bit version. This install, set the preference for on FFMPEG h264-MT and hope.
If it does not work, then try it with the 32-bit version of Vegas and FFDSHOW.
I know s.sich not know if that was in Vegas 9 is possible, but in previous versions you could persuade some to Vegas on FFDSHOW codecs decode (VfW decoder to be more precise). Marco will certainly know whether this will still in the 9s.

The tool is decoded in this case possibly Quicktime. ffdshow can be a good tip for an alternative decoding. I have ffdshow with Vegas Pro 9 not been tested specifically in conjunction with H.264, but it generally works in Version 9 synonymous, provided it is properly configured.
Addendum:
For MP4 files I get baked's with no ffdshow.

I have a similar system as you, but under Vista 64 In any case, everything went s.sich quite well, only it was always jerking at regular intervals during playback (frame rate of a burst). This happened synonymous in other programs (VirtualDub).
I decided to set up the system again and this time turned off when installing the Hyper Threading in the BIOS. Now everything runs smooth.
