Hello everybody!
Could my problem with the search found nothing, unfortunately, so I put my question with hope of help here.
I'm just of a long day outdoors with my XL1S returned. The camera was a good 6 hours in the open. On the evening had been unnoticed veritable frost (frost) on the Camera formed. I then normally losgefilmt.
Now, at home, I noticed that the tape is blank or nothing was recorded. Rather, it originally contained the recording (which plays should be about) intact.
The camera now screams when the tray MiniDV tape "Remove Tape" and produces some synonymous Volume salad. If the tape on, and I draw on, nothing will be recorded again. The recording contains only the original recordings in which partially synonymous gray / black stripes appear. Also happens with other bands the same.
Now I am pretty desperate. Has perhaps the water accumulated in the Camera? Or is that one of the dreaded drive damage? Why did not the camera recorded. Is the XL1S so cold and feuchteempfindlich?

Is the XL1S so cold and feuchteempfindlich? Feuchteempfindlich all camcorders, not just the XL1S. That the device before Rotate already had ice applied, is not so advantageous. Condensation can even cause damage far beyond the band beyond salad.
Do you have the camcorder because just let them dry properly?

thank you for your answer. I have the camcorder now has night with open cassette tray dry. Indeed, everything seems back to work as usual. Unfortunately, my image material "away".
What I do not understand, I have 2 MiniDV tapes with them. One camcorder in the other in the aluminum case in the (unheated) car. Both tapes do not suddenly produce more volume and salad. All other tapes of home work properly. Interesting is synonymous that I along with two bands (Fuji and Panasonic) synonymous with an XM1 had the same extreme conditions was exposed. This was a Sony tape. Here everything works as it should and the imagery is flawless.
Can someone explain this effect? I once synonymous here in the forum about liquid lubricant read, which in some bands should be applied. Unfortunately I think the contribution is not more. Can it be that the Fuji and Panasonic cassette stronger cold or feuchteempfindlich than the Sony tapes?
In any case, thanks for the help. Thought, my beloved XL1S had a bug :-)

yes, the problems with extreme cold or extreme heat are well known. You should, according to a description of the Manufacturer, each of the Camera, not normal circumstances "is used, protect!
