As an alternative for high-quality light: a look at times HQI lamps, Color Rendering Index (CRI) and efficiency are close to HMI but much cheaper. Or high quality Full Spectrum lamps / energy saving light bulbs, 30 watts approx $ 20 and bright as a 500 watt halogen, CRI also very good and almost no heat.
