Hello,
I am currently in reasoning to buy a new camcorder, but I still vacillate between three camcorders.
Firstly, I've considered buying an HDV camcorder Sonyfür Of the 2,000 euros, then not.
However, I have come to the conclusion that I'm going to buy me a HDV camcorder, but a MiniDV camcorder, but I vacillate between the new NV-GS500EG-S (the first s.15.02.2006)
appear and the NV-GS250EG-S.
The NV-GS500EG-S has 3x1.070.000 and one pixel 3CCD [1 / 4.7 "] in contrast to the NV-GS250EG-S, which is only one 3x800.000 and 3CCD [1 / 6"].
My question: Merkt be the difference of the pixels of the chip and enormous?
If the 3CCD chip 1 / 4, 7 more than 1 / 6 or vice versa?
What camcorder would you advise me? Both camcorders are more or less the same, except that the 250 has more connections, the 500 better zoom, more pixels and other chip.

I stand before the same idea as you!
However, I tend rather to the gs-500, because it has a larger format LCD screen in 16:9 and also with where I think better Chip convinced.
I am currently thinking between GS-500 and the SonyHC 1 where my preferences lie more with the Panasonic.

DV or SD IMO only makes sense if you can get a top model such as an XL2, DVX or similar progressive professional model at a bargain price.
Consumer - DV 's the lower league do not have any advantages over some of the HC1 and usually no longer synonymous manual control, as the lower Resolutionwählen why?
Nevertheless, the HC1 has a 1 / 3''chip and decent low light performance, Panasonic's 3-chipper sensors have only 1 / 5 or 1 / 6 `` And so NO advantage in the Lichtmpfindlichkeit.
If time is on the smaller wrten geg HC3, which will in some Wochenkommen.

DV already makes some sense: 99.9% of all TV owners should not even be able to play back HDV, probably even more.
99% of all PC owners should hardly be in a position to intersect with existing software and hardware HDV footage at all. In 50% of all PC hardware and software owners should not be able to play back HDV only. 99.9% of all DVD discs are available in SD quality. 99% of all TV shows are also likely to max. SD have.
So what HDV with all childhood illnesses and great expense if the person might just want to make holiday movies of wife and child, or ne time filming weddings. 99.9% of all amateur filmmakers should not just focus on your project presentation in movie theaters ...
So, for me or miniDV SD still makes quite a lot of sense, although I already synonymous with HDV had flirted.

If the 3CCD chip 1 / 4, 7 more than 1 / 6 or vice versa? The rule of thumb: The larger the image intensifier and the fewer pixels it has, the better are the reserves of the camcorder in dim lighting. A video picture (standard definition MiniDV =) always measures 720 × 576 (= 414,720) pixels, no preference how many pixels the chip has. 1 / 4, 7 "are more than 1 / 6", so I would expect from the GS250 over the GS500. ;-)
