Frage von V-Tex:Hello,
I want my VHS movies with DV quality write it into your PC (fairly new calculator with Win XP Professional, Athlon 64 3200 +, Pinnacle Studio 9, FireWire port, and plenty of disk space to NTFS).
I intend to buy the Canopus ADVC-55, but would not risk a bad buy, s.Euch so my questions:
1. Studio 9 will recognize the ADVC-55 and so I can import the movies?
2. Can the NTFS file system of Win XP (or Pinnacle Studio 9) AVI Files of example, to 26 GB for two hours of video without having to dismember it, and then the calculator can handle it properly?
3. Here are some basic problems to be expected?
Hopefully not too many questions at once, and even again, thanks for your help.
Greeting
Hobi

Only buy for the digitization of some VHS tapes a card I would not do.
You for the money-purchase a digital camcorder with analog input (or lend you one), since you can loop through the analog signal of your VCR, and often even without going to DV tape directly transferred to the PC. I did something to a borrowed Canon used two Sundays and 10 VHS tapes were done.
NTFS is basically to infinitely large files, though I had to s.and s.Probleme by the affair came when playing (of external Firewire disks) to a standstill. Did the whole thing a bit fragmented, my files are now large, up to 6MB, so there has been no problems.
For capturing time you should try Sclive) (trial with a watermark, the program cut you in capturing your video in the same scenes.

1. Studio 9 will recognize the ADVC-55 and so I can import the movies? Even though I have not yet worked with Studio 9, I would answer that question with a clear yes. A connected via Firewire A / D converter is of practical support any video editing software. More info:

2. Can the NTFS file system of Win XP (or Pinnacle Studio 9) AVI Files of example, to 26 GB for two hours of video without having to dismember it, and then the calculator can handle it properly? The NTFS file system is to my knowledge, up to 2 terabytes (= 2,048 GB) of large files, which is in the video and practice more than adequate. However, I've heard different sides of that Pinnacle Studio makes problems for larger projects, but this is not with the size of each video file related, but tends rather with the final length of the cut video film. Here it may be useful to create smaller sub-projects.
3. Here are some basic problems to be expected? Here I fell really only the operating system. If you have Windows XP Service Pack 2 and this, then it may mean that Firewire devices are ignored.
