Hello,
I bought s.Freitag the Pinnacle MovieBox DV to finally my old Video8 and VHS-cassettes to digitize.
Following installation and have the box working properly, but I have quite often when capturing dropouts. - Since I am not an expert, I wanted to ask if anyone had similar problems and knows a solution?
When I record of Video8/VHS on the MovieBox DV stream as I get on an irregular basis with pictures of "building blocks" and to a short noise. I can not say with certainty whether the dropouts still occur s.der same place a tape, but it seems to me actually going as if this were the case.
Can possibly a worn / bad recording on analog tape, the cause of the dropouts have, or do I optimize my Calculator otherwise somehow for the Recording? - With my DV Cam everything goes smoothly s.gleichen Port Firewire port.
I'd appreciate the help very much. Thanks already in advance!

I have today in any case the MovieBox erstmal brought back to the dealer and "not satisfied because" even get my money back, which I find very nice.
I am now again looking around and came across the Canopus ADVC 300 of which is widely praised so much. I was now synonymous with the same views and the dealer said that problems like with the Pinnacle box with this device would appear unsafe. - However, the good piece indeed synonymous costs more than twice ... but has some nice features, like built-in TBC, which is at the Pinnacle box can only dream about.
I'm not sure if I there now strike, but I see really the only sensible solution to this box.

... I would have known before that time, I would have left the fingers of the thing. Everything just sounded very tempting, because you do not order via DV stream, but the same can import as synonymous MPEG2 (if it was smart for work).

I borrowed a neighbor of the Moviebox DV, brought to my analog Video8 movies to digitize and nothing sensible to run. At scene, it has hung ever. I tried different versions on my PC and my notebook: capturing with Szenalyzer, Ulead Video Capture and Pinnacle Of the original software that accompanied the box.
Always the same useless behavior.
Sunday, I was ordered from digitalschnitt.de the Canopus ADVC-50 for 136 ¬. The device was delivered Tuesday.
Access is no problem and everything was working properly - both with Szenalyzer as synonymous with Ulead Video Capture.
If you need to do analog to digital, the device is optimally. The ADVC-100 both directions can, if you need that. The 300 will again provide better quality, but I think that the gain does not justify the higher price.
