Frage von Auf Achse:A friend is to embed a video of me using web player in a website. The video is 16:9 / 720x576 / PAL but the video of him verwendetet the web player compresses the side to about 4:3. According to him, is the reason because the player can represent the pixels of the 16:9 anamorphic format, just as square pixels. Therefore, the lateral compression.
According to the ideas of the webmaster should I convert the anamorphic pixel square. That would be a solution, but I can not imagine that the usual procedure for DAS web player is.
How is it done normally, it is s.Webplayer (I do not know what web player he used), or even s.Webmaster ;-))
Thanks and regards,

For the web I always use full square pixels. Whether this is the usual approach, then? No clue. But would at least exclude errors.

I have noah opening of web player, but the proposed solution seemed strange. Should this really be the usual practice, I have no problem to configure the video for the Webmaster accordingly.
Thanks for more comments

If you you realize that the web player with fixed dimensions is included on the page, it sounds no longer so strange. Even if he can display anamorphic footage correctly (I really do not know), the webmaster should always calculate the aspect ratio for each film itself. Can he intended, but well, sometimes goes wrong ... then maybe what
