Hello, 've just received a used S-VHS recorder bought the PANASONIC NV-SV 120 of the EC. It works fine, but he is apparently only available in black / white. Could I do something wrong, because I've only with "normal" to have video recorders, with which, however, this problem never occurred. I must say that I use a normal cartridge (no S-VHS tape), but it is likely it does not lie. For helpful hints I would be very grateful. Many greetings Truhdi

Place the input of your TV, s.dem the recorder is connected to S-VHS. Then it should work.

It should be noted: If you are with "normal" aufnimmst VHS tapes, You synonymous produce a "noralen" VHS movie. If you then your TV to S-VHS ask, did you re just black white. So S-VHS tapes to use TV to make S-VHS (check whether you are a 21-pin Scart cable is used, or S-Video cable) then everything should work. Uwe03

Solder. First is the connection to the TV is not S-VHS, but S-Video (or Y / C). And secondly, to S-VHS recorder (as synonymous Hi8 models) VHS (or Video8) as Y / C out. Even better would be if every time you switch or plug should be, if one with 'nem S-VHS recorder' ne olle VHS tape watch. More about the technology hierhere.
Truhdi: What do you on? Reception from the built part or of 'nem external cable or satellite receiver?

Hi, First of all thanks for your replies. Related Links: The description is the use of standard cartridges is no problem, a permanent switch, I would rather annoying synonymous. The recordings were made of a SAT receiver. Perhaps a further indication that perhaps helps to isolate the problem: As a first attempt with the new recorder, I have an old, standard recorded tape inserted, to see whether the device is working. Result: Black and white reproduction. Then I have the other Scart output is used - in color reproduction. I was already synonymous strange, and as in the test-HOST also only appeared in black and white, I know, I must again replace the Scart socket, but this was a mistake was discovered, the other jack synonymous delivered only a black and white Picture . Greeting Truhdi

If I remember correctly, the recorder has two Scart sockets. Take the ones with TV is labeled. You need an S-Video Cable Scart -/RGB-taugliches - although that should now be standard, but if the old one from the previous Reocrder caught, it can still be a cheap, non-S-enabled variant act. (If it's stupid runs, the S-video cable fit a defect.)
On Television, lock the scart cable s.eine with designated S-video Scart connector. Finally, you have still in the installation menu of the recorder kontrolllieren whether synonymous to the Scart socket S-video stands.
What kind of satellite receivers do you have? Digital? Analog? If it is a digital, look here synonymous in the installation menu to see if you have the Schartbuchse to S-Video can provide, and connect it with the second scart socket on the recorder.
Is it easy :-)

Hello Quadruplex, thanks for the detailed instructions, with which even I, though technically free enormous talent, anything can. I have a new extra scart cable from the local radio and television merchant without expliziet however be noted that I consider it to connect an S-VHS recorder need (just do not know that there are differences). The settings of the recorder and the satellite receiver, I had not checked synonymous (stand not in the manual) - which may have been the key sites, s.die I will tackle tomorrow. If I am successful, I will obviously make a reply. My satellite receiver is also still analog, which may play a role synonymous? Greeting Truhdi

Indeed. Is it only that you s.der scart socket 2 of your VCR (that is, you s.die the satellite receiver connected), must ensure that they are composite (or CVBS is synonymous FBAS called) stands. Everything else (especially connecting the recorder s.TV) shall continue to apply.
Antwort von thos-berlin:
Basically the issue is somewhat confusing.
The lowest common denominator to the analog connection Picture of video equipment is CVBS (Composite or CVBS). It is color and brightness on a cable.
Improved video equipment (including, in this case synonymous S-VHS recorder) may be in the Y / C (S-Video synonymous - fälschlicherseise synonymous S-VHS connection called) transferred. These two lines are needed, one for brightness and one for the Color.
In SCART cable is something verstckt, since all the necessary cables (synonymous for the sound) in the thick cables are included (or should be).
The SCART developers have been implemented in a way that when a wrong setting or if a device is no Y / C can, but at least the picture in black and white display.
To ensure that the image color funktoniert, müsssen, both with the cable connected devices "speak the same language." As the Television s.Videorecorder connected already colored images showed, in principle, this connection seems to work.
It could therefore be that the connection of the SAT Recceivers s.den video is set incorrectly, the device does not "speak the same language."
Please check (possibly by studying the manuals),
1) whether the SAT Recceiver even Y / C can output and whether the set.
2) whether the s.SAT video input Y / C, and the set,
3) depending on the outcome of 1 and 2 devices so that they are both on the same connection are eingesteltl.
4) Check whether the cable is OK (possibly a new purchase).
Synonymous would be helpful to know how the picture looks s.Television if there Recceiver directly connected (with the cable that actually goes into the VCR)

Good evening, I can, thanks to your support the success stories: For half an hour does my Panasonic recorder as he runs, and is now synonymous with colorful pictures. I changed some settings in the menu of the recorder, I also have another scart cable, which a few "teeth" were missing. What now was the ultimate target shortage has repaired, I can not say, but one thing is clear: Without the guidance of you would have me some facts remained unclear and the objective is not achieved. I thank you very much for your patience and the exact instructions without someone with my talent aufgeschmissen is freedom. Sincerely, Truhdi
