Hello, I'm new here and just want time to ask a question. I want to digitize old S-VHS tapes. Have one to JVC S-VHS recorder, which I have connected with my PC via S-VHS connectors. How do I get the images into the PC? There's something I miss? Have only black monitor. My operating system is Linux, an appropriate editing program (; cinelerra) I installed. Perhaps one of you can help me. Regards Willy

What is the connection / what kind of cable you nutzst for such purposes? I have now tried with a scart cable, which goes to the composite input of the TV card and the Line-in sound card. At least I can now hear the video. But get no picture.
But where to go next? Do you still have an idea?

Besides the usual pitfalls, such as eg incorrect drivers or faulty cable, I have no more idea what it could be.

Hi Mark,
've now tried everything possible, including cable replacement, unfortunately, only sound. Have now been using to avoid frequently read here in the forum, an analogue / digital converter in order to sync problems may arise. Would that be advisable? But I do not Fire / Wirer input. Perhaps nochn Tip haste for me.

For example, a converter for picture and sound would certainly be the cleanest solution. Sowas starts at just under $ 100. Even with USB - if you do not have Firewire. Often there is then even DV editing software here, which is sufficient for your purposes.
If your target media is DVD, I would imagine, but synonymous, that you simply nen DVD recorder you buy, and your bands are playing directly into the recorder to DVD - no computer in between.
Noch ne alternative - if you are uncertain about technical matters - for you'd probably still, when you once turnest s.Deinen local video club. The help you ensure next.
