Infoseite // S-Video to HD with G5 nem??

Hi folks!

I sold my G4 and G5 nen I bought - so far so good ;-)

Unfortunately I had to sell my synonymous Pinnacle DC 30 +, since the G5 only PCI cards with 3.3 volt signaling support :-(((

I really like the card is good and now I'm looking for replacement nen ?????????!

The Pinnacle DV 500/700 seem to be 3.3 V PCI and Analog Video + Audio Out + inputs have to - just what I need!

... but I can only find software for Windows boxes!? Gibts since no drivers for the Mac (OSX 10.3.x/10.4.x) or are in OSX member yet?
And then I can easily get into with QT or FC, or because I need an extra Progi?

(I will definitely not an external USB / FW solution!)

Gibts any kind of other cards with which I can take S-Video + Audio with my Mac AND that I get cheap second hand (eg Ebay)??

Nice that you do not want USB / Firewire solution. As you see, but it cost a lot more money.
You could try one Haupauge TV card and the OS X to take open-source drivers. Perhaps gehts.

dazuhaben what software do you want? Special drivers are at FW devices do not even need a video editing software and if you can be (at FW, not independently arrange for USB) synonymous by the A / D converter.

because PCI cards are more expensive, synonymous, I'm asking if anyone knows an older model that works in my G5, I can get cheap on Ebay and for which there are OSX drivers.

I do not want a FW / USB solution because:
1. More cables, less space
2. Another documented connection
3. lower quality, higher system load
And while I'm gone up recently with a PCI card very well, I would like to hold another!

You only need special drivers for USB converters, but not Firewire.

This is what I: can object to an external transformer to provide even better quality (*). A higher system utilization is caused only by a USB converter.

*) For example, the Canopus ADVC-300, which requires no special drivers, but that with the control software, "Picture Controller 300" waited for Mac OS. ;-)

Hi Mark,

may be the Canopus converter is good, but is too expensive for me!

What I'm looking for about 75EUR on Ebay, and over the DC30 + is not cost synonymous.
