Frage von embee15:Hello,
'm happy owner of a new Canon FS 100 - which saves on SD / SDHC cards.
Only ...
SD cards are synonymous than 4 GB, only the larger should I buy expensive SDHC cards.
Where is the advantage s.den SDHC cards (except that it is just up to 16 GB there)?
And second question: My laptop has a built in SD card reader. How can I find out whether this card, the SDHC cards of data in an optimum speed reading, or if I buy a new card must be made for the faster data of the memory card to transfer?
Thank you for your answers,

... SD cards are synonymous than 4 GB ... That is true, but officially are only SD cards up to 2 GB are defined: Higher capacities are outside of the specification and likes to cause problems. To no unnecessary risk, you should then at 4 GB and only use SDHC cards.

Määänsch, again half an hour to wait for an answer :-)
But where else is it then still an advantage? Where are these things really fast SDHC?
When dubbing to the PC?
Antwort von Modellbahner:
Always quietly with the young horses. Look on Page 31 of your manual, everything is exactly as described. Not all card readers can use the SDHC format cards read this, possibly this check. It must dranstehen whether this card or not. Otherwise, there are very big problems if the card is not designed for SDHC. It is synonymous right of the camera with the included USB cable, the files on the PC drag. With the Canon software is even easier, because then also a curious archiving takes place.

While there are not 4 GB SDHC cards, the synonymous really have 4 GB. Only allows many devices with the FAT 12 & 16 (one of two) only read a maximum of 2 GB. So, some 4 GB SDHC not only recognized as 2 GB or not.
There are hardly synonymous known manufacturer with 4 GB SDHC cards.
Therefore, the file system to FAT 32 (SDHC) can be changed, so there is the larger space.
SDHC has nothing with the speed to do, which is a public misconception often occurring. Only a different filesystem and thus access to more memory.
When there is synonymous SDHC Class 2 cards slow, with "only" rapid synonymous SD Class 6th
What speed creates the map, depends on the manufacturer from.
If you take equal cards, all sizes are equally fast (eg Panasonic SDM Class 4 = no preference whether 2 or 4GB SDHC, Class = 6etc SDV)
