another possibility:
3x the clip on top of each other in track 1,2,3 basket.

I do not understand completely what you mean. Perhaps we are talking of different things.
If you are in the lane in which the mask will disappear, the Deckkraftregler (keyframegesteuert) to zero herunterfährst, Track 1 is always visible. You can track either the mask or the video track to zero - the result would always be the same.
But no preference as long you have a solution.
