I have a Canon HF 100 purchased. Since this is my first steps are to digital, because I have a question:
There are 4 recording modes for Choice (FXP, XP +, SP, LP) in its data differ (eg with FXP 17 Mb / s).
However, an FXP Resolutionvon 1920 * 1080, the other 3 modes 1440 * 720. How can it be that a video with 1440 * 720 for XP + more space is needed than with a video also at 1440 * 720 SP? How does the difference in the data?
Another question: Is it true that in the FXP mode, with 30 fields per second is (1080i), whereas in the other modes ro 30 frames are second (720p)?

The modes are:
FXP: 1920x1080 @ 17MBit
XP +: 1440x1080 @ 12Mbit
SP: 1440x1080 @ 7MBit
LP: 1440x1080 @ 5MBit
Since the bitrate is variable, it can happen that, for example, the XP + mode is better than the FXP mode.
It can optionally with 50i or 25p recording.
About 60i/30p/24p has only the NTSC model.

Displayed is the maximum bitrate. For a picture that is almost completely black, it is logically only a low data rate used. Anything else would be pure waste.
With increasing resolution is synonymous uses a higher bitrate.
1440 to 1920 shows a 33% lower Resolutionauf. Thus 12MBit enough for a relationship in the same picture quality.
Each mode of XP + below therefore provides a lower picture quality in relation.
