Hi!
I'm trying a bit to specialize in wedding reports.
Currently I am working with the Camera SonyHVR-Z7 and via XLR connector with Rode NTG-1 and Rode NTG-2 shotgun microphones (both were bundled with it, they swap of time to time, their characteristics are very similar). On the second XLR connector, I have in the church, an external wireless microphone placed on the altar, respectively. I put in the ballroom of the second connection to the mixer tape and so their master out lane draw in the Camera. If I am the bride and groom at home or somewhere outside, then I take on only with the shotgun, that is, the second channel remains empty. That means I take on in each case mono.
The Shotguns works technically perfect and I am satisfied synonymous with the sound quality of persons or things which stand in front of me, say so just before the shotgun. What I am not quite satisfied, however, the sound quality is when someone of the Page reinruft something. Eg. I'll take on the couple as they recite each other Hochzeitsschwüre and 5 meters interrupts the right of the bride and groom, the mother of the bride, always the scene with funny comments and suggestions. Hence my question: there are microphones, which are for those wedding pictures "better prepared" than Rode NTG-1 Rode NTG-2 and? So microphones that go a bit more in the Width and give a bit more of a stereo feeling, but have still not bad directional functions? Since it is often very loud in the halls and I often stand next to the boxes must be the mic stand a little something synonymous s.Dezibel "may".
Price I'm already a bit flexible. 600-700 ¬, it may cost, but of course not, if it is synonymous cheaper.

Perhaps the directivity your Rode mics is too strong. The fact can be up to -25 DB at the side of incoming sound. When AKG C 1000S with cardioid I measured it this time, there is almost exactly the attenuation -6 DB, which means after all, that opponent 'side is twice as far away sounds like sound of the front.
The AKG is by attaching the small plastic part to the microphone capsule also be transformed yet to hypercardioid.

Why do not you close s.zweiten XLR input of your camera with a Micro Omnidirectional? Possibly. You either need someone who holds the Micro and brings with him, if you move out, or you are somehow montierst additionally to the Camera.
Possibly. You can synonymous a small audio recorder (Pocket Recorder) set up, which you can run along with acoustically important events. The stereo microphones are usually installed.

the second with the xlr the th has indeed ruled out, but the alternative means of audio recorder (eg zoom H1N ¬ p.99), I consider synonymous for the fittest, s.besten mounted directly on the cam, so that remains synonymous then the spatial allocation of the "reinrednern" obtained.

I would once with an AKG SE300b with hypercardioid capsule (would have to be CK93) try. Which offers a slightly wider angle than your shotguns and the Micro-10db pad built a synonymous when it's loud times. If still not enough, you can still try out the CK92 capsule (kidney). Maybe I would consider synonymous to combine the shotgun on the one channel with a 300/CK92-Kombi on the other, then you are safe on the page. The NTG-1 and NTG-2 the way, is the characteristic of her identical. The only difference is that the NTG-2 has a battery power supply. The synonymous AKGs need phantom power ...
