Hi,
I would like to switch to HDV and wonder what software player I need to on Windows XP unedited videos of my HDV Camcorders Canon XH A1 to be able to play. This is really not a good solution if you are logged in as an author and host still stands! BTW: I use the time WinDVD 7, version 8 is on my PC HDV can represent. Can it synonymous videos of my Canon XH A1 play? Or are there other (free) software player?

At best the VLC player - the controlled format and all sorts of manipulations (aspect ratio, trim, deinterlace, etc.) and comes with virtually all major formats easily. Of course for pitence!

Have I understood correctly: the installation of a commercial software DVD player is not necessary, since the VLC player all the necessary decoder to view a video (eg a DVD) bring? And is a play the DVD then synonymous with the Windows Media Player possible?

Correct. You can zb synonymous VOB files (or DVD) to play directly. DVD menus, etc. work well.
And is a play the DVD then synonymous with the Windows Media Player possible? This comes on your media player.
