Can I pack my camcorder onto tripod and film the thing - so keep the full sun (provided it seems)? Or must I fear for the sensor?

If you do more on Wide Angle Normal shots where the sun is in the picture, that's no problem.
But if you, as envisaged at a solar eclipse, will take the sun as possible vollformatig the Picture, then this can cause damage, before they reach the largest coverage of the sun, the sensor. S just like a magnifying glass if you see the sun sharp fokussierst on the sensor!
Of course, this is less of a problem this time of year than in summer, but s.deiner place I would so much like you Grau-/Polfilter available BEFORE you screw the lens, before the recordings! Without the additional neutral density filter you would always have an over-exposure problem, the solar films.

The "man" is not something to take lightly, it has perhaps only a 4x ND filter! :-))

Even long Focal is not a problem, but the sun filter film has it, but I am afraid, will soon no longer be feared.

Not really. 10 f-stops' s just ND 3.0. One need for visual observation ND 5th For Still Image and (I think) videography Suffice it less synonymous, but I had at the time of the eclipse filter film with ND 5 on it. Safety first. The film necessarily synonymous check for damage.

It is recommended to eclipse film. Moreover, the partial solar eclipse is not tomorrow, but s.Dienstag. But as it seems it should be covered!
