Hello,
I currently have an older Sony100E DV-Cam and I would like to change a newer product. Actually, I thought, growing to a HDD cam around, thus eliminating the tedious capturing from DV tape. After I already had read much, I could, however, a few questions there are no precise answers.
1) Can I use the files easily to your PC, copy, and play with my editing software (Ulead Media Studio 8.0) or edit because I have any problems?
2) On the Sony-page are already several new HDD cams that I would be especially interested in the SR290E. This device has loudly Sonylediglich a USB output, not input. So therefore I can edit the finished film does not copy back to HDD? ... then eventually of the camera directly to the DVD recorder to burn s.TV?
With my DV Camera I do so, because I thus have a better outcome, as when I finished AVI file with a loss of quality directly to DVD convert and burn s.PC.
When I consider these two aspects, I would eventually return to a DV-Cam (for example, the new HC7E) tend.
Opinions or tips would be very helpful.

The sticking point in HDD camcorders (as it is synonymous with DVD camcorders) the data. This makes the video post or even make it impossible (depending on software).
Whether it specifically for the SR290 to such problems, I can not tell you. If you're with MiniDV recording format than hitherto were satisfied and everything according to your wishes worked, I would not change. IMO you can not via USB video recordings on a camcorder to play back, especially if this is a HDD model is.
In addition, you can with a MiniDV camcorder tapes synonymous previous play, should be your older camcorder Temporal bless the times.

ok, it helps me a bit in my decision. So I will probably continue to rely on MiniDV. Perhaps there is in the future a better solution.
At first I thought, hey, a HDD-Cam is so cool .... you need only the files rüberkopieren and the thing is done. Unfortunately this is not so.
MiniDV What would you recommend now? I voted yes for the moment the SonyPC100E since 2001, was always happy with it - until the problem with the cassette or ejection-and off. Decide but sooner or later the new acquisition as today's Resolutions (eg HC7) yes a lot more likely to be.
