Hello,

Firewire is the way forward for digital video data (see FireWire FAQ">s.PC connect your camcorder and capture shots). Possible causes:

" The Firewire cable is defective
" The (4-pin) Firewire times has a loose connection (*)
" The Firewire port of the computer is not OHCI-compliant
" Your operating system is Windows XP with SP2

* See connecting link "s.PC camcorder and capture images," "6 cheap or expensive firewire cable?"

Thanks for reply. I have SR2. Should I uninstall? Firewire cable is just like new gekauf camcorder. The time has never been used. I'm thinking everything should be in order. How can I check whether OHCI Firewire card is Fächig? With the camcorder, a 4 / 4 pole to use cable. At the beginning I knew not, and it was connected with 4 / 6. Could it be that there is any backup durchgebrant? If so, can I determine this?

Hello,

taken from FireWire FAQ">"s.PC connect your camcorder and capture images":

Quote: 5. Firewire 4-to 6-g and its poli poli g
The 6-pin connector provides an additional power supply is available, which is not needed for transmission of video tapes from the camcorder to the calculator, however. Most camcorders have only a 4-pin connector. Often the cable on one Page 4-pin (camcorder) and on the other is Page 6 pin (PC).

Both the live contacts result in a 4/6-poligen Firewire cable into the void, the camcorder gets to feel the tension of nothing.

Uninstall Service Pack 2 (SP2), the solution could be your problem. Look here:

When I tried to uninstall SP2, I issued my PC, with almost all programs that SP2 is connected and they are not properly exported to Deinstallazion. It seems so that SP2 has been installed by the Manufacturer of the PC. If I book now uninstall SP2, I get this even bigger Problemme?

Hello,

create an actual image (eg with Drive Image 2002Norton Ghost), then uninstall SP2 and see what happens. Which option you would usually hover in order to prevent or eliminate sources of error?

Drive Image or Norton CHOST Free Money. I have saved the system files via a PC backup, recovery program and uninstall SP2. I know no more, folks! Since nothing has changed, man!
-The Firewire is OHCI fächig. I even uninstalled the interface on Device Mäneger and after restarting the PC it was again anerkante.
Cable, camcorder are new. IEEE-1394 has never, until this time used.
- PC has SP1 (SP2 was dissolved).
Only Problemm, I can still see, is wahrnscheinlich that has the software CD hulls of any digital signature of Windows XP, and has not passed Windows Logo testing. Can it hang together?

Hello,

a System Restore is not the same as a real image (link relating to: No Imagedatei - reicht synonymous Wiederherstellung?).

Ich habe inzwischen eine erste Sammlung s.möglichen Ursachen für das Nichtfunktionieren der Firewire-Verbindung angelegt. Schau mal ob es noch weitere Anhaltspunkte gibt: If FireWire does not work.

That the new FireWire cable is unused and has nothing to say. The camcorder can be processed at a bad time nonetheless have no contact.

Sony DV cams with firewire transfers often do not work under WinXP SP2. So I just installed on a small partition with WinXP SP1 and boats for the transfer of / on the Cam just of the small partition. And yes this works is (usually) do not often needed.

So, if the Firewire port has worked with you has never been, look at times on the home page of your board manufacturer, or views with google "firewire" "problem" "<Mainboardhersteller>. On my Epox EP-RDA8 +'s helped ...

Hi
So I've bought a firewire card and they s.ein PCI slot is closed.
the following was written here:
Quote:
If you are still interested ... ;-) You can then see if your firewire card is OHCI-compliant: Click on Start> Control Panel> System> Hardware> Device Manager> (now double-click) IEEE1394Bus host controller. There should be something similar to: VIA OHCI compliant IEEE1394 host controller.

Unfortunately, "IEEE1394Bus host controller" does not exist for me! And no program recognizes my cam. The device is a Sony DCR-PC5E.

If I look through your help.

Hello "Guest"

so long as the IEEE1394 card is not integrated into the system, there is of course synonymous one connected device not recognized. Build the card once more and then, for example in another PCI slot again. Thus may contact problems (dust in the slot?) And / or conflicts with other hardware can be excluded.

Anonymous posts for more than one months preceding any "guest" assign posts sometimes hard. What operating system do you have? Still with WinXP SP2? (-> Still ... SP2? It definitely makes problems!)
