Frage von Pansito:I have an approximately 15 years old SonyAnalog camera, with which I have so far recorded about 10 tapes, the camera was, therefore, has very little use when needed but still works well.
Recently, I have asked friends, two "old" somewhat dilapidated dubbing tapes digitally, the tapes but gave nothing back, even though they were allegedly recorded. For control I have one inserted my tapes, functioned normally.
A few weeks later, I want to use the camera again for my tapes to digitize. But now nothing works .... the camera shows only the gray picture, which is usually seen with an empty tape too.
Does it lead to in visual mode, we see a very noisy picture, but can recognize the subject.
A Reinigunskassette do nothing, their heads look normal. A dealer said (without sight of the sample) would be a typical Sony problem, all capacitors must be replaced, cost about 200, - Euro. Has anyone similar experiences or tips?

Then you've got lucky again! I'm glad for you that the recordings are not lost. :-)
However, I do not think it makes sense to invest 200 ¬ in the preservation of an old analog camera. Perhaps this money could be the basis for a new digital camcorder?
