Can you at the small screen anyway bend, even with focus assist. The AF works reasonably Kamerafuehrung usually much better.

As a former proud owner of a HV 30, I was able to in 14 months, really wonderful work. Film contracts and private films were made, the recording / editing were excellent, I'm still from the handling and performance thrilled!
A display defect abruptly ended last month due to this friendship and extremely generous settlement (Amazon refunded me the entire purchase price within a few days!) I bought the 520-XR SonyHDR VE.
Quite a leap:
1. my distaste (old user stories) against Sony,
2. of mini-DV tape to hard drive
3. Of Avi editing AVCHD on the well-known problem.
I think not synonymous, that there is a fair comparison between HDV and AVCHD can give: the quality is on a normal 0815-Consumer equipment difficult to
the PC-editing is different as bicycling and fly and for AVCHD only works with major additional investment - not only financially - synonymous know technically meant.
Archiving (Family Movies) went without any harassment to the GM 30-tape back. Who wants 2gleisig drive, burning a DVD with an additional undetermined but certainly shorter life.
Lt. all previous findings, the tape is still the best archiving method in comparison to CD / DVD / hard drive.
With AVCHD because it provides yet more complicated. How bad is the sound made on the HV 30? Everything I have read spoke of "dull". Think you so that you almost would rather buy another camcorder should. But your description sounds a whole already so you really do not mistake with the HV 30 can do.

I had to quiet environments drive noises on the recordings.
Now use my Zoom H2 as external Micro, which is a much better recording quality than the built-Micro has.

When one has given more demanding (musical children, all 2 weeks have a concert somewhere zb) to get what external, eh better not around. or the external sound completely the same make (zoom recorders, as mentioned above-ca. 200 Eur for the minor or by mixer tap if something there).
Since then speaks of the favorable price for the HV30, because you still have money for accessories:
- Tripod - nice quiet photos can not be 'out of hand' shoot
- Micro - as I said, for better sound is a must
- Wide Angle Adapter - for interior shots in the small cameras actually a Must
- Extra battery - Included is the tight time frame, if we long time without power on is a must synonymous
