So a CCD instead of CMOS PMW350 with and for the same ¬ 5k more? Well .... but you can see: CCD is still in demand. Unfortunately, the station recently, do these stupid optical drives and then the things (PDW 800) sauschwer, free as always and suck power like never!

The PMW500 is a very fine camera, but is this price (MSRP 25K) neither the optics nor the view finder or anything else here. Meaning, it is already an impressive total sum. I myself have a PMW350, but I am not happy with CMOS, not synonymous with the 35MB and 4.2.0. Sampling.
To the SxS I am now accustomed and never want to miss it (worked synonymous with PDW700 and discs, but there always carry a disc as a reserve was synonymous tedious!), Synonymous to backup and archiving is no longer a problem. The much lower weight of PMW500 as opposed to 700 or F800 is a critical point if, like me, mostly in nature, without tripod work, you must.
PMW500 with CCD and 422 50MB is quite a camcorder for many years. So I hope at least ... Who is not dependent on the PMW350 (or 320 was the last test I) are ideal camcorder for the professional sector.

It's a bit stupid that you can not default the great viewfinder with the 300 series to get. It is synonymous a shame that the whole PMWS can topsy not 4:2:2, although the hardware would be able to without modification.

Well, that would not 422 the great problem of the 350s, a nano-flash turn and do it. The camera itself can indeed as you say. Me is all about the CCD, but uses the more current then synonymous. In the 350s or 320s is filming the whole day. It happened to me that I had no reserve in the PDW700 Battery here and ... Terminated for lack of rotational power (but only briefly before, until I got the spare battery from the car ...). So fast you get used to, although I was 15 years ALWAYS backup battery had then.
The viewfinder of the 350 (Kit) is really great, the switch to the small SW (but synonymous is very good) for the 700 is so hard for me. But as you say, I think the extra you can not do it now, only of the 320/350 kits there when I'm not mistaken.
Another advantage of the 320/350/500 prof.Discs that contrast to the synonymous 700/F800 service costs that are dropped by the lack of moving parts. think of the reason for TV stations, on the PMW500. There one is confronted with the archiving costs.
