Hello.
Have me on eBay a used XL1 purchased. When I took the camera and everything auspackte in operation had taken, at the beginning everything seemed OK. DV cassette purely ... settings ... Recording ... funzt. Then, however, the Sckreck: I switch in the VCR mode, and watch in the viewfinders, I have only a blue background, I hit play ... nothing happens, the blue background remains, one sees only the play but synonymous symbol the timeline will not display (only --:--:--). Look me in the DV tape to another device, you find that was not recorded. My question is: Has anyone ever had a similar problem, you can tell me what a mistake or something similar? I'm really desperate, as I with the camera at the moment nothing can start.

Cleanse times the head, or try it with another band trademark. The XL is quite sensitive.

Because you can see whether Viewfinder picks it up or not (short lead time of around 3 sec then receptive.

Hi,
So the Recording: If I (with DV cassette inserted logically :-)) to push Studio, you can see through the viewfinders the timeline starts (all ads OK) and the synonymous Play icon is visible. The DV Kasstette is synonymous for so long until you stop pressing spuhlt it back and goes into the VCR mode, is a "blouse Screen" .. So a blue background ... and at play activity will only play the characters but no picture and the time synonymous Leite remains as described above, without display.
If I, after I received the XL1 "recorded" the tape had been referred to another and setting up your camcorder .. is nothing on the tape.

Do you recording in the A mode, or Green frame? If so .. I have tested it ... So recordings. Does anything like this as he would record .. synonymous in Viewfinder everything OK. Only in the view in the VCR mode ... nothing happens.

The camera is probably already old and was certainly the only reason why at purely Ebay, because the head is.

Hello!
I just delivered, had a used XL1
purchased (in a shop-Commission Sales
with right of return within 14 days of).
Due to illness, I could only after ca 3Wochen film-with the same result as you, a return was no longer possible to repair (a new video head) cost ¬-410.-The only information;
But first buy a cleaning cartridge, go to the cleaning instructions before inserting cassette-ca 10sec. in Aufnamemodus
run a little wait (Video head may not be too hot), reiterate, R. cartridge out -
and with normal cartridge starten.Wenn the attempt fails, help
probably just more of the service.

Hi,
would like once you describe what the situation is. I have yesterday (selling open Sunday) a cleaning cartridge and bought a Sony DV Excellence tape. So a cleaning process performed according to instructions, new DV tape inside .. and VCR Recording Mode Test .... and? Well what can I say ... everything works perfectly.
Thank you all for the help and suggestions.
Another tip: I recommend this camcorder for truly high-quality DV tapes .. because I habs so myself seen the cheap 5 Packx of Sonyetc. suck.

Am with you, I have tapes on Panasonic-sworn, are often used in the forum.

Often this contamination does not even need a cleaning cartridge. I got my XL-1 for many years, but rarely use it. Yet something ever happens again - if I switch to the tape manufacturer, which sometimes, unfortunately, is inevitable. It has always enough just before the tape recording of the beginning to the end go through. The use of the cleaning tape is faster.
