Frage von ElCrucero:Moin,
about the forum search I found anything useful or wrong I've searched. So here I create a new thread.
got here a little older camcorder (Thomson VMD20), which is not being used properly for about 3 years, since he is a little damaged.
When recording (when the moving picture) is formed horizontal streaks or partially synonymous small squares. Earlier (3 years ago halt) were formed almost exclusively colorful artifacts / squares, and the real picture was not identified. In the recording mode itself is nothing noticeable.
Most likely, the whole is created with a holiday, when the camcorder was taken to the beach. It is only since the (2003) then get this error.
Only 2 problems:
1. When playing the recording can be heard occasionally misses some of the sound.
2. When I touched the camcorder the other day and conducted a few test shots, I noticed that the colors appear sometimes quite pale.
Can you save the whole thing somehow? If yes, how? Or it would be too costly, since "rumzuschrauben"?
PS: I know that still does not like me properly because I'm not soo busy Nocht so much. Is not synonymous my camcorder.

It sounds as if the video heads are dirty. The problem may be caused eg by the fact that the camera was long stored with interleaved tape.
In the recording you can not see the mistakes, because you see the direct camera signal and not the signal stored on tape.
The blocks (and streaks?) In the motion error is posts on the tape. When motionless, the camera there recording adds image content from the previous position a tape and it is not noticeable.
The first idea to get there, of course, run a tape cleaning cartridge. For this you will read here in the forum while looking very mixed reviews.
Good luck
