I have a Panasonic SD9 and lately I've noticed an annoying problem: The thing takes a lot of background noise too loud. The culprit is probably this up sitting 5.1 Microphone.
Particularly disturbing: Only slight wheezing sounds soon s.wie of a zombie!
I then set times that only the center microphone is used. Unfortunately, the sound was thin and thus totally powerless.

I can only say this: with my HDC-SD300 is synonymous so - and I think I never used the surround microphone did.
