Hello,
I have uploaded a test shot of the HV40 on YouTube.
Only a few pictures from our garden. In addition to birds chirping and a train went by in about 200m away, there were no noise sources in the vicinity. This allows a few to judge just how disturbing the tape drive noise on this camera.
I also screwed for that test images have provided a 0.45x Wide AngleVorsatzobjektiv on the camera. I have the part for 29 EUR! www.fotos-alive when purchased (, + EUR 12 for a filter adapter).

Hello,
I have a HV 20, do not know if the AF sensor in the HV 40 is the same (, so exactly fitted s.derselben place), had once read that some MF lenses can hide a piece of the sensor. Appears to your HV 40 do not seem to be the case ...

I also have such a wide-angle ancillary with 52mm threaded connection, via an intermediate with 43mm s.der HV30. am very pleased with the picture quality. The tele intent of this seller, however not good for Euro!

What do you want to show us that? That you can shoot synonymous with the HV40?

It was all about the volume of the tape drive.
As you can hear it in the recordings at low and at busier environments.

The test has no significance. Each camera in the price range, with built-in Micro and tape drive tape inevitably generates noise.
Therefore exists since 10 years of recommendations to an external Micro tuned to clap.
Sorry, but a test in a silent environment THEN in the "wild" and THEN in the city would have made more sense (and if such a test makes sense at all ... because a) we know just the parts that produce noise and b) if it were interesting to compare it with other camcorders)

One can not generalize.
I have been very confused, as loud as the band sounds at the HV40 really. If you are reading this in the forum, the threads on this subject (; HV20 / HV30), it is thought, the camera was audiotechnisch absolutely unsuitable. For people who shoot short films with quiet dialogue scenes, this may be true synonymous.
I have to try out the camera only a few days and have all our things before I "really" regards projects. But one thing is already clear to me: For my rights extends the built-in Micro forever.
I actually turn only at family celebrations, company parties and on holidays. That extends the quality of the mic thick and the tape drive is not hear it in practice. I've also been synonymous rotated several corporate videos for companies that are played back continuously on exhibition stands. Because these are backed with music interests me here, the Micro does not.
Basically it's this: If your video is good for nothing,'s usually is not s.der Camera but s.dem people behind them. They indeed may even produce a cell phone with respectable clip.
