Hi everybody!
My current Panasonic NV-GS230 is me in the low-light area simply too bad. Generally, I am with the picture is not satisfied - but the most expensive, it is anyway not been;)
Now, I am superior to me to buy the HV30. However, I do not know whether this is really still the latest or best choice for me.
Important for me is:
- Shutter speed, Aperture, Focus manual control
- Microphone port
- Headphones output
- Thread for s.Lens
- "Photo shoe" to attach an external microphone
According to other forums it seems that the contributions HV30 in low light area is much to be better than my present one. But there is perhaps even better models?
Another question would be the herunterrechnen of the material. Is the qualitative difference between downscaled to SD and HD material to SD material to a good DV CAM big?

Although I have no experience with the HV30, but an own GS230;)
What struck me from carrying out a Canon HV me to buy, is that the whole series of "only" with CMOS sensors is - but with the GS230's 3CCD, which is especially successful in the professional sector.
As I understand you, you do not go to HD, otherwise you would not ask after herunterrechnen.
In each instance, one can say the bigger chip and Lens are, the more powerful is a device especially for LL, simply because it can absorb more light and the pixel's light at the few not too small by a precarious disrupt chip.
If you do not go to HD, I would rather be an XM2 or similar rates, since I have been switching to the 3Chip will not play back, if it is synonymous not necessarily immediately, but I think it is easier to picture better.

Stop me stupid ... but I did sometimes get the feeling that my old Digital 8 (TRV-245) for better color performance than did the GS-230. Particularly low was in a better light situations ..
When I look on the Vimeo HD HV30 clips of the chart, I want s.liebsten immediately losrennen and as a part of me here. Have just rotated with the GS230 - Terrible when I look at the pictures - Despite sufficient Lighting ...

The clips are hammer - is s.der Compression or is in the Wasserskiclip really little noise in the picture?
I think my choice is clear;)
Can you give me maybe something to herunterrechnen of HD to SD to say?

Through Compression deteriorates rather the Picture. Sooner or later you'll get everything EHH manual settings - it is that you the "crumbs" almost did not see as opposed to the automatic mode. ;-) Grins reckon down after SD of HD? Since only the small picture ... ;-)

CMOS and CCD are not readily comparable. There are pros and cons for both, but the performance of a 1xCMOS Color Lowlight is at any rate not with that of a 1 x CCD to compare. It is better.

Beautiful, clean footage. Most HV30 Test on Vimeo films are really bad and anti-advertising. What proves only that the camera does not "auto" makes good pictures.

* Here comes the but: In DV HDV cams are not special. A down conversion should
generally not take DV codec. Also in HDV and then cut to DVD downkonvertieren!

I said stop only if the material of downscaled HD with good SD material can match.

grinsl ... it will / should be better quality - there you go so no pixel flute - on the contrary, you have much more available than you actually need. a good "scaling program" provided of course ...
Another advantage: the hv30 records in mpeg2 format tape on. I can still cut a much more efficient AVCHD! In the future, h.264 encoder / decoder, but any graphics card and cpu to relieve ... when it is? no idea? ;-)

Sorry that I have this thread again performing tasks, but I have the papers in some forums here understood that the HV30 is NOT possible both Aperture as synonymous the manual shutter speed set?
That was myself with my NV-GS230 ...
