Hello!
Until now I could find no one clear statement to the GPU support in CS4!
If GraKas with 256bit and more already be the solution?
I realize that I CUDA full power until a Quadro CX and get with the appropriate drivers! But I would not sink in the fast 1800Eur GraKa market ..
However, I would invest at the 150-250EUR for a GTX, which possess almost all the 448bit (and more) memory bus.
My current GraKa is a 8600GT with 128bit memory bus.
Is there perhaps even someone who is switching to GTX cards, and did not feel a performance boost? :-)

The memory access of graphics card does indeed have great influence on the playback in CS4. On my notebook makes 9600M GT is fitted 128bit. Thus under Eigntlich CS4 with AVCHD clips no liquid playback is possible - but especially so because the card is in IDLE mode (it is runtergetaktet). I clocked Activate an external output device (via WindowState + P), the high card in the 3D mode and the playback is liquid despite the 128bit on the Notebbook!
In a Notebbok with a 256bit card that is not necessary because the power is sufficient for playback, only the CPU should be clocked synonymous with more than 2.5 Ghz, so that AVCHD can be played smoothly.
Edius clocked during playback, the GPU, incidentally auto high.

The experience that with a more powerful graphics card smoother preview is possible, I have been synonymous.
I had upgraded my calculator for a i7 920 platform with 12 GB of RAM and was not yet with the preview performance of CS4 (with AVCHD clips) satisfied. It jerky and hooked.
It was only when I saw the Graphic card, a HIS HD4650 iSilence4 which I had had for a Leadtek GTX260 Extreme + exchanged synonymous ran the preview much smoother.

For me it is primarily synonymous to AVCHD (out of a Panasonic HMC151)
Let's see if the announced premiere update to version 4.2.0 synonymous nor the one or the other GPU support (for non-Quadro cards) with itself brings

... and yet I have to constantly AVCHD -Wiedergabe/Schnitt very strong artifacts in the picture. Does anyone possibly hints that I can set as something else to improve the performance?

Your Calculator should be able to handle any problems ..
Can not imagine that it can come with the system and CX ner to such problems: - /

In the preview, this should not occur under "highest quality". The blocks come with me on only in the draft preview.
Now I can with my system (i7 920, 12-bit GB of RAM, Win7 64, GTX260, CS4 play) up to 4 tracks (including Überlagerunegn, title, etc. smoothly) AVCHD in the highest preview quality.
Especially with your CX - graphics card should still be possible synonymous.
If it appears in the rendered movie might lie s.den settings for output format.
