Frage von mikaelo:Hello!
Somehow it almost all see Conversions PAL <-> NTSC because of the different frame rate, slow or jerky movements somehow "unflüssig" out! Sure, you can not fail to give Resolutionzu change, but here in the forum I found conversion of proposals to find suboptimal.
I have therefore considered the following times, as it NTSC but in 2 versions:
~ 23.97 fps (for movies) and
~ 29.97 fps (for a normal TV)
would not it be better to have a mpg-2 for a DVD from the editing program in 25 fps, but in the off Resolutionfür NTSC (704x480) and then with the DVD Patcher just the mpg-2 rewrite so that just 23 per second , 97 fps be? If the Ami-DVD player and NTSC Glotze movie should be 23.97 fps but liquid running at 25 frames as high as 29.97, is not it?
Okay, the sound would be a little lower back, but it is negligible!
Is this an option or because there are still NEN hook?
Antwort von Markus K.:
For NTSC DVDs with 23.97 fps from the DVD player is the 3:2 pulldown inserted to output 29.97fps s.analogen to come. Contrary to the TV so that would be synonymous garnicht cope.
Disadvantage is that the 3:2 sequence Telecining bucking synonymous with certain movements generated. It is therefore the buck to the gardener made.
In combination with a projector which can handle native 23.97fps would be an advantage if the player so can output (eg digital).
The pitch can be maintained if the sound in advance accordingly (time stretching).
Otherwise you can in a professional environment with appropriate hardware directly synonymous of 25fps to 29.97fps without disabilities go through the conversion to have. For most small-scale production, however, goes beyond the budget;)

I've been with a separate short film practice from 23.97 p to 25p and then slow down as NTSC full DVD output. In true progressive devices I could unfortunately not the result of judge with a normal TV and DVD player, but jerky because of the pulldown strongly (and in any case more than when you play in PAL 25p).
Otherwise you can in a professional environment with appropriate hardware directly synonymous of 25fps to 29.97fps without disabilities go through the conversion to have. Excluding impairment is running as a transformation never expire. It is possibly slightly better than that with conventional (amateur) software solutions rauskommt.
The pitch can be maintained if the sound in advance accordingly (time stretching). Is synonymous not so easy, because the quality of the extreme processing suffers, it will have the disadvantage of the wrong pitch against the disadvantage of lower sound quality. Even in the professional area, this adjustment is rarely made, and if so, then the raw material used in high sample rate and resolution, and it handled each track of the mix (dialogues, sounds, music) individually.

I can assure you that when a professional standard conversion (Motion Vector) nobody behind the difference between PAL and NTSC original conversion which provides half the liquid and the movements are concerned (at the Resolutionnatürlich already, but this is the system for NTSC).
Likewise, I can assure you that artifact-free time-is possible. String instruments are usually difficult and prone with the current solutions to very artifacts synonymous but there is artifact-free solutions. Of course, one can not arbitrarily stretching (eg, doubling or halving term) but in the current period changes as the inverse Telecining & PAL Speedup and nobody hears the other the difference - correct (and expensive) hardware and software vorrausgesetzt.
I make every year about 200 hours standards conversion for broadcast and DVD, can claim some knowledge of the matter to have;)
