Hello in the round! Very briefly anticipate: I am a fairly active forums photo enthusiast with expertise in matters proper DSLR and digital compact cameras. With video cameras, I admittedly do not know. Because from 12 young June 'need' I now urgently require a small video camera. So far, I have my videos with a Fuji S6500fd Superzoomkamera and was made to sound not too dissatisfied. The thing I've sold but search and therefore a little small for the literal pocket.
I have noticed so far
Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG9, the JVC Everio GZ MS 100 and the Panasic SD recorder (because there are several, such as the SDR-S 7). Can such a device for my purposes, recommend:
HD is not necessary, is important with a good stable and smooth picture, good noise behavior, recording to SD Card (HDD would be synonymous OK), functional stabilization, somewhat rugged housing. The lens should be rather good and powerful than any zoom fantastic record.
For other than the above suggestions, I am more than open ;-)

PS: Frevlerische Question: Are those cameras really beginner better than the video mode of a good compact camera? For example, features the Panasonic TZ5 HD video with 30fps, can be optical and the optical zoom (!) Stable use. Taste synonymous to 260, - EUR ...

Perhaps mercy is still against a Videonoob someone like me ;-). Elsewhere, I was now something quite different, namely the SonyHC62 recommended. Some other sources I have also the JVC almost excluded (because of the proprietary MPEG2 codec, which is apparently not with many editing applications can tolerate). Also the Sanyo has been increasingly difficult - at least the older models will be very hard compressed ...
Remains the Sonyand the Panasonic video camera, and the question of the Panasonic TZ5 compact photo ...

Look, I just sold my Panasonic GS230, the quality is for such a small device echt super and MiniDV is still the "allround" talent among the recording media - simple editing and the PC power needs - as opposed to HDV or AVCHD - no top be.

None As you can tell what was really good. Hmm, yes, I know the problem from the photo industry, where synonymous ever after 'landscape-party sports camera for 120, - EUR' is asked. That is because the result is not without limitations, is clear to me. You may want to stop only restrictions BEFOREHAND know ;-)
