Hello,
I have read many similar questions before, but not to come to your destination.
I have a PC with Windows XP Home and SP 2 Currently I am trying my new DVD camcorder Panasonic VDR D 150 call in life.
I would like to download the videos via a USB cable and edit in Windows Movie Maker.
The mswmm recognize my camera but only as a DVD drive and plays back the videos on the Media Player.
What am I doing wrong?
PS When I try in mswmm File under "Capture Video" to create a path to the error message is. No video capture device detected.

so far there are very few dvds / hd-camcorders, where you can dub the videos via usb on your pc. even when a signal came, may be still at a highly compressed. the dvd / hd camcorders are not designed to actually synonymous.
when you record, dub cut on pc etc and want to be, / minidv with firewire is the better choice.
tip: close my dvd from finalize () and try to grab them by means of a sw to ...

rather rip: a DVD movie or an audio track of a CD in digital form, transmitted to the PC. A program that performs this task is called a ripper. Fluted files to DivX, MP3, WMA or other compressed formats and play on your computer or an MP3 player or be on DVD R / RW, CD-R or CD-RW to burn.

Leaving aside the fact that Movie Maker is anyway a rather equivocal event: I'm not sure if he MPEG-2 video (this is processed on DVDs) can.
For a beginner like you would a cheap video-editing program (such as the notorious friend of Magix Video deLuxe). The current versions should be able to open MPEG-2 (perhaps this time simply browse to that concept).
