Hi,
So, I've been working for quite a while with MSP (as s.The 7 years, still have the 2 version lying around ;-)) and I cut captured and always cheerful.
But when I finally, with my "old" placement agency (2 man operation, was quite a plum), said one of the two gentlemen that MSP can record uncompressed and only Avid Xpress program is the true (but secondary).
Now, I wonder if that is true, because I have noticed in the years when I use the program no losses.
I always take with "DV Type 1" and now I wonder whether the capture uncompressed at all guaranteed.
Hopefully, the issue is not that a bit, well, stupid. I mean, I've been looking at the issue already and unfortunately found nothing useful.

Strictly speaking, it is true that MSP is capable of recording uncompressed. But the only reason, since the DV stream before even 1:5 compression and is probably the rest of the computer including hard disks would not play. This applies to any program.
But seriously: If you DV capture via Firewire, which is a pure copy of the data of tape on the plate and the packing in an AVI container. Besides transmission of tape or other errors, is Lossless.

would be nice if someone else clears it is not synonymous as important ;-)

If you are capturing a DV tape of mean: no - synonymous makes no sense.
Otherwise, you can say, for example, VirtualDub, and countless others, which codec to use when capturing. If you do not angibst codec is uncompressed written to disk, which is quite fast to scream help.

I would try to clean the registry and then re-install again ..
have you tried it on another computer?
