For the cut, it is often advisable to have a consistent time code without any jumps. However, it is synonymous in many cases helpful, also see the running time of the recording to be able to.
This allows you the time code as usual in the Rec Mode is Run through with a normal coding, the user bits but one of the real time. For the cut then you have the most technically unproblematic, continuous timecode, while synonymous with the user bits of time.
