Hi Folks,
I would like to express my with an old analog video camera home movies (8mm VHS format) via PC with built-in TV card and Magix-editing program on DVD. Unfortunately, the camera is broken. Have thought, or so on ebay for a used Analogcamera bid, only to play the tapes and via composite connection s.auf the hard drive. Have now come through a posting in the forum on the idea that the use of a Digital8 camera with Anal.-Digital converters for dubbing via Firewire, perhaps could bring much better results. For all contributions, however, only the question of Hi8 tapes. So my question: Can a Digital8 camera synonymous simple read 8mm tapes "and digitize? Perhaps a stupid question but I have a lot of video formats, not a clue. Perhaps someone still writes me an answer. Be grateful.

Hello,
if a Digital8 camcorder, analog 8mm video tapes can play the system, then both Hi8 as synonymous Video8. However, can not play all the D8 camcorder analog tapes. From the current series, for example, only loss TRV480 into question. Whether the synonymous has an A / D conversion function (for digitization of VHS), I do not know.
From the digital TV card using rather take apart. ;-)
