Frage von SiDoubleYou:Evenin,
I'm new here, I have over the years but have picked a lot of good information from this forum:) ..... now I'm here hopefully in good hands with a heart: digitize old videos!
Location: I would like VHS-C material (; NO SVHS-C) digitize loss as possible. I know that I work for s.besten with S-video signals, so ...
... MY EQUIPMENT: - IMac with Adobe Premiere
- Canopus ADVC 300
- Panasonic SX30
S-VHS-C camcorder
(, S-Video Out) - Siemens FA 256 VHS-C camcorder
(; without S-Video Out) PROBLEM: Siemens The camcorder plays the tapes from super. However, not suitable for capturing, since S-video output is missing.
The Panasonic does some tape off too fast, seems like light coils. Some tapes he plays correctly, but often, the picture suddenly split or moved so that a kind of "Split Screen" ensteht - only takes a few seconds can make a screenshot if needed.
QUESTIONS: 1. If these problems because I VHS-C tapes, which at that time with a VHS-C camcorder Balupunkt were recorded with an
S-VHS-C camcorder, play ...
2. ... and why there are two kinds of problems? Is it perhaps
then Recording-Modi/-Einstellungen? I know that all the tapes were recorded at that time with the same Cam
3. Is it worth it to buy other camcorder test /? ...
4. ... are there any VHS-C camcorder that has an S-video output?
If so, I would be grateful for any tip, because I can not find any!
WHAT "CRACK" CAN HELP ME?? :) I would be incredibly grateful! (; Expected no money hehe, etc.; P)
I hope no important detail was forgotten, otherwise just ask!
For any further tips or important notices to the digitizing I am grateful!
Greetings

With VHS you can take the composite output synonymous

I close to me.
Take the recorder, the tapes s.besten reflect and use the connection there vorhandnen.

Composite / CVBS but has a lousy color channel. Keywords: Dot-crawl
Antwort von SiDoubleYou:
Hi there,
I have two screens of the same tapes with Composite and S-video recorded and compared - the S-Video Picture contrast was there a lot-and detailed. The latter probably by dot-crawl?
I am now somewhat confused about your opinion? :)
Nevertheless schonmal thank you!

Dot crawl is rather poor:

and looks like this:

Now you have to imagine just that this checkerboard pattern is moving ... like this:

Hi
So your approach to rely on S-VHS is not at all ill ever Sun Also in VHS worth a S-VHS device to record the same format as the two methods (Y / C Colour Under) and thus be present before the signals separately. One of field (= bandwidth) Advantage one experiences in the rule, since the bandwidth capabilities of VHS and S-VHS far below those of composite are much less S-Video. But in consumer devices often poorly implemented Composite decoding and the associated artifacts (cross-luma, in his wandering form of dot crawl, cross color, or just but a loss of sharpness would find None necessary) S-video into a first choice, since one Here the lossy decoding (separation of brightness and color) are no longer needed. Furthermore, the signal in S-VHS equipment is high quality and they often provide disabled (not always) an edit mode of the analog picture "improvers". VHS machines have the edit mode, often (but not always) not. Except Edit it can mean synonymous tape dub, dubbing or bizarre cases (Telefunken) synonymous contour. The edit mode has slightly more sharpness (hard to win back again), but something more synonymous Noise (to eliminate with good digital filters with better than the old analog VHS HQ filters).
So much for that. However, it seems your S-VHS device to have some strange problems. Too fast? Not coincidentally almost exactly twice as fast? That would be the VHS camcorder could possibly Long Play, you used it, the S-VHS may not have, so again in SP speed. Perhaps the Kopfumschalt-time is the S-VHS camcorder a bit too late, which thou hast indeed the qualitative advantage of the "Flimm strip" s.der lower edge of the image (s.TV not visible s.Computer already) is small, but the critical moment of the picture-sync pulse is disturbed.
Here you can meet each other synonymous two problems: the slightly too late changing the minds between S-VHS camcorder and the ADVC-300 with its amok-TBC. The TBC in this work namely Zauberbox errors and starts with "image noise" (which actually are garkeine, and the smaller the ADVC-110 and other s.Markt located TBCs converter and a damn) that the in clean picture even later to distort. Especially popular are the small black spitting in the laser disc playback, if occurring, no line is longer on the other. But Betamax synonymous (common) and VHS (very rare) have sometimes Interference bring the device out of the total concept. What does your television for you to give the camcorder to tape directly connects an affected? If the Picture as synonymous hacked? Well and the quality of the filter is synonymous not exactly outstanding. No wonder, the chip is responsible for image processing was developed nearly 10 years of Panasonic for use for image enhancement in low-cost TV sets and a 1000 unit price of U.S. $ 10 sold well.
Besides the fact that you are with another converter darstehst probably better (overview of what you see today will http://forum.slashcam.de/videowandler-of-klein-bis-gro-vt87791.html), why an S-VHS-C camcorder and no S-VHS recorder to the robust design (eg Panasonic NV-HS1000, the second hand market classic - only buy anything newer when the drive is already sitting in the middle, because Panasonic has unfortunately lost übelst quality, except perhaps for the first Mid-Mounts HS900 and HS950) including VHS-C to VHS adapter - or a Panasonic NV-V8000 JVC BR-S622 or the (S) and VHS (S-) VHS-C both can load without adapter, more or less against a "Buyer's purchase price deposit" (admittedly expensive buy for ¬ 200-600 depending on whether the "cheap" NV-V8000 or the expensive "Professional-S" of JVC, then sell again without loss of value)?

Evenin,
first thank you for this comprehensive post!
Now, in order:
EDIT MODE: Do you mean that this edit mode can be responsible for the fault, as he was then turned on while recording?
Or can help me fix this at the problem. As far as I see the Panasonic camcorder only has the opportunity to own TBC activate when playing on / off.
PLAY SPEED (SVHS camcorder): The with the double-speed could get there and the thought came to me with the long play synonymous already in mind.
However, I was not at that time the "Regiesseur" and I'm not sure if the old Blaupunkt camcorder (it was already filmed 89 / 90) was something. I'll be there to ask again!
BAR (SVHS camcorder): So at the bar of me is described / separation, it is not the usual "flickering beam that" see below rim. I remove those already with a mask in Premiere.
I mean the bar in the attached screenshot to see is. This can not actually come from the ADVC synonymous, since the separation of the image is also visible in the viewfinder of the camcorder when I play the tape (s.TV synonymous with composite).
Filter by ADVC I do not use (if you think that the settings in the Picture Controller). The ADVC settings I will later on "default" and everything else would edit in Premiere (sharpness, color, contrast, etc.).
PLAYER. This idea occurred to me already in mind, however, have the camcorder version (for now), preferably from low-and shipping reasons. I just made synonymous smart already have several interesting products.
From cassette adapter I do not think much, my Dad and I had to have bad experiences and fear for the tapes! If anything, a player with VHS-C drive.
Is there perhaps some take good SVHS-C camcorder with S-Video out and the potential impact on long-play tapes?
Greetings and thanks again s.euch!
