Hi,
I have 2 weeks before the SonyDVD bought 505 camcorder. Great recordings, the finalization of the mini-DVDs and playback on PC or DVD player is no problem. So far so good.
But the digital interface is problematic. Did I say Magix Video Deluxe 2007 increased'm there and when importing the VOB files to all the problems that are already in this forum were discussed. Unfortunately, many proposed solutions have not brought the desired solution:
s.Umbenennen of *. VOB to *. MPG: Magix shows only the first 6-8 seconds of the clip.
b) demuxer: Is this 2 separate data streams (MPG and AC3) to create. The slight loss of quality when MPG is still acceptable, however, to AC3 Magix File not handle - even though it stands on the package. At least this file is not displayed during the import. The sound would have but after the demuxer OK, because I use this example without a picture in Windows Media Player can play.
c) Conversion to other formats with AVS: for conversion to AVI explodes the amount of data, or it's missing the sound. For the other formats is delivered me the bad image quality (what I have since purchased a high resolution camera ...). Have here, but admittedly not yet any possible re-tried format.
Am therefore quite desperate and consider the "cheapest" link in my chain of exchange, ie, Magix Video Deluxe.
Question: What is affordable and easy-to-use software comes for me as a film-Beginners still in question, ie can the storyboard VOB without any loss in quality and prior cumbersome reformatting or Demuxierung cut, fade, etc. to insert subtitles price: max. 200 EUR (s.price see you have my despair). The finished movie should then again on DVD and can be burned s.PC and DVD player run.
Supplementary question: The direct response of the Sony camcorder via USB works also not synonymous. Which Firewire card can be recommended as a remedy? What should I purchase the look out for?

Times I'm going assume that you still have only a stereo AC3 is not it? Then you can from the sound-such as a WAV file and import it. That is, for example with

USB works also not synonymous. Which Firewire card can be recommended as a remedy? With a MiniDV camcorder would be a good idea for your DVD device, however, less. I'm pretty sure that that synonymous the DVD505 no Firewire port.

AC3 Import into VDL only works with installed DirectShow filters, so as to corresponding Magix DirectX Componenten back!
The AC3-fitness program in the advertising relates to the rest of the AC-3 output, which is a plugin for Magix purchased must be time to look at the page after Magix.

Have an alternative to the Microsoft link for download of DirectX found.
Magix Runs stable and then I skip the AC3 filter?
As I download the info have read, DirectX can not be readily uninstalled. Am I therefore a risk?
Use Windows XP and a laptop of Toshiba Satellite, approximately 1 year old.

DirectX is usually already installed with XP, you can easily check: Start-> Run, then "dxdiag" (without quotation marks).
The installation of the AC3 filter, you can not save if DirectX is, assuming it ever does (and many other synonymous). Prior to that, but you need not be afraid, your system will not be unstable (it). The filter is open source, ie the (program-) source texts are open and you can check the part synonymous (because if you want to) compile it yourself. Deinstallierbarkeit is synonymous not an issue, negative effects of any kind so far unknown.
So only the courage, try it!

Yes - DirectX is already there.
Have synonymous the AC3 filter downloaded and unzipped, but knows the Magix *. AC3 files still do not.
Can I have the AC3 filter installed (I found no actual installation routine) have done something wrong - or do I somehow Magix announce that the AC3 filter there?
To demuxer I rest in both once and ProjectX PVAStrumento used. The film without sound I have yes - for a closer look, but a fall shakes every few seconds to make it seem that way again and minimal gaps in the film to be. Can this by any other parameter settings at demuxer heal?

Did this ever in Magix nachgeschaut. For the full import of the video part of VOB simply because those in the storyboard with the right mouse button to apply and "create new frame table" option. Then film close (without saving), a new film and create the VOB file again to draw storyboards. Then at least the video in full length here, with audio, however, it remains for a few seconds. The problem with the "bucking" of the video portion demuxten has thus done.
If the audio problem. Can someone here has a similar simple trick to the sound in its full length to get? Then I would quite to the demuxer rumkommen. Alternatively, I am grateful for advice synonymous, as the now newly-installed AC3 codec of Magix detected. A name change in the MPA has not helped.
The Vobsplitter Magix, I have already requested - but of course not yet received (is only a few minutes ago and today is Friday).
Thanks for your tips. Hoffe trick with the "create new frame table" at least a couple of beginners (as I myself am one) to have helped somewhat.

Normally, the import of AC3 filter after the installation go smoothly; have here with the 2006 version is no problem.
Check times with Gspot (http://www.headbands.com/gspot/), whether or not Windows really uses the filter: open your time a Vob files so and then press down on MS A / V, only the 1, then the 2nd It should be in the (lower) indicated audio filter graphs (ie the Windows Wiedergabeweg File-> speaker) of the AC3 filter and up the video with sound playable.
Check synonymous times if you have the latest available update of VDL installed (is synonymous from the program via the menu Help-> Online Update).

Thank you first - you have me already once helped.
- Update of VDL has been installed
- Have downloaded Gspot synonymous. Though I knew not where I am "MS A / V" do, but under View - Installed Codec - Audio, I installed the codecs here. Starts with ACM ... ie AC3 missing.
What can I have done wrong. Did this this morning once uninstalled, re-downloaded, unzipped and started the installation routine, which it in the directory C: \ Programs \ AC3Filter installed.
What could still missing? Error messages when installing, I have not seen.

Hmm - maybe I have the filter is installed correctly:
Have a VOB in GSpot file and selected "RENDER" is clicked. This is successful and it is reported that DirectShow can play the whole thing. It is used in the filter combination synonymous AC3Filter (audio decoder) will be displayed.
Under View - Installed Codec - Audio, I see this now synonymous, but not as expected at the top of the list with AC3, but in the middle of DSH.
So should the Magix AC3 file really know - or?

Hurray, hurray, hurray, it has finally worked. Picture and Sound are finally without quality loss in Magix VDL capture - and without demuxer and without Vobsplitter.
Why do I not exactly synonymous. What I have done differently:
As VOB material I did not even recorded Sony505 made the movie, but a DVD recorder via the TV movie recorded. Those on the hard drive and copied using a VOB Merge program (because of the 1GB limit) zusammenkopiert. Then as before synonymous to the drawn storyboards. However, I was now of Magix asked if I use a Dolby AC3 plugin or something similar (I have already forgotten what it exactly was) free will. That is what I have done then synonymous.
Magix VDL seems finally get the AC3 codec geschnallt it. Perhaps it was so that the real Dolby Sony505 can and the DVD recorder does not?
Then again the already well-known trick:
- Right mouse button on the movie in storyboards and frame length determined: this was not just the frame of the video but the audio synonymous recalculated
- Movie Close - Without Saving
- New film
- VOB-file again to the storyboard drawn: Everything Paletti
Did it then immediately afterwards with their own material VOB probiert the camcorder. Ging is now synonymous with this material. Could the material recorded from TV then synonymous with their own material and connect for the first time really working with Magix (screens, subtitles), etc.
Power under the full frustration finally fun. All I have helped s.dieser body a big thank you, especially GAST0815.

When I use the AC3 codec installed, I have - since Magix Still this is called Image Manager - Magix completely reinstalled ie incl Magix Video Deluxe 2007.
Perhaps it was so that eventually the Magix AC3 filter has geschnallt.

I've had the problem synonymous.
But this is resolved quickly for me and the zuwar Dolby Surround COSEC Speed Alden are free. But ask yourself if you Magix video files imortieren is whether you want Freichalten either by e-mail or by mail / fax.
Only one problem I have and if I zuwar the movie in the story board of s.abspiele beginning synonymous then one hears the sound and when I next preludes then I hear no sound.
Maybe someone has a solution already.
