I film with a Panasonic SDR-S150, the 16:9 anamorphic with 704x576 recording pixels.
Unfortunately I'm too dumb, Vegas 8 Pro to get the correct pixel ratio teach. If I have understood everything correctly, I have the Project Properties with 704x576 and the pixel aspect ratio of PAL DV Widescren (1.4568 pixels) to create. Unfortunately, the picture in the preview window distorted.
In the Preferences under Preview Device I have already tried all possible settings, unfortunately, has nothing and slowly I am puzzled / impatient / aggressive tend ... :-|

Use the disk icon at the top of the window of the project settings to auto Vegas project settings to adapt your material for you.
They then by right clicking on the preview window, the option to customize the preview on the source material to choose.

The crucial point was that when the right mouse button on the movie tab Media, the pixel aspect ratio was wrong, not at 1.4568, but 1.0909.
And, although I have the correct video properties already had before I started the MOV file that is loaded inside. This is actually pretty stupid of Vegas, or ...?

All of JVC, Panasonic and Canon, in Mpeg2 format and record it as a MOD file store, set the 16:9 widescreen flag in the mpeg2 sequence header is not.
Instead, the information, whether 16:9 or 4:3 was recorded in the corresponding MOI file stored. Unfortunately worth as much as any Videoeditierprogramme the MOI files, so be 16:9 recordings of these camcorders usually only recognized as 4:3.
