Hello!
I bought a week ago, the SonyHandycam DCR-HC17E and have a problem:
When transferring to the PC with a video capture tool (in the mitgelierferten software Picture Package of Sonyenthalten), there is a huge loss of quality.
The raw material I with a wonderful Qalität of 0.8 Megapixel still s.Television've looked over AV cable, after the transfer has only a size of 320x240 and is quite pixelated.
Even after the editing with the microsoft moviemaker and the cyberlink power producer, the picture is not so bad.
Although I am a novice, but I can not imagine that such a great loss is normal
(Video is virtually unusable, you can not even recognize faces)
If the s.dem capture tool?
If so, with what program so I can prevent deterioration and what is the max. Resolutiondie can reach s.end?
(because I would have liked to watch my movies s.Television and still can recognize faces!)

How did you connect your s.Computer Cam?
I have a SonyDCR-HC42E and was as long as I had it connected via USB cable, synonymous receive any useful quality.
Then I upgraded my computer with an IEEE-1394 port (approximately EUR p.50) and the Cam via firewire cable (Sony terminology: i-link) is connected.
This would have been times the hardware requirements for quality optimally exploited. Now you have to the software settings for the capture. There are superb quality means a lot MB! (60min film up to 12 GB!)
The correct settings, however, depend very much on the purpose from .. Contributions to the appropriate settings here you can find many in the forum ...
Furthermore, a lot of fun!

An IEEE1394 Firewire PCI card's buying now p.10-15 euros. Unless a motherboard-side FireWire interface is present: buy absolutely, without going to the video editing really nothing.

I could start with the Sony Tools synonymous not much and am now working with Sony Vegas Video. I use it but in hobby and leisure activities and can not judge how powerful this program is compared to a professional tool ...
For my needs but I get good results and the program is very easy to use. I recognize the created DVD's no quality difference from the original recordings ...

that can hardly be possible, because digital video has a Resolutionvon 720 × 576 = 414,720 pixels. This is synonymous the case, if your camcorder has one-megapixel imager. The full Resolutionspeichert such a device only for digital photos, but not in video recordings.

Well, that's really nothing special. If you burn the movie as (MPEG), VCD, it is indeed due to space constraints only HALF Resolutiongespeichert.
