Hello
Just happened to come across this wesite and have read various messages relating to HD-film equipment ... The subject is topical for me because I am faced with the question stands to purchase new equipment and am unsure if it already makes sense to switch to HD, or more likely still to wait.
Had the opportunity to purchase a super attractive and well-maintained SonyDSR-PD150P first hand, the alternative would be an HD unit for a maximum of CHF 8'000. (no mic, Tripod, etc, for which I have) anything, such as a SonyPMW-EX1 3 - CMOS 1 / 2 "XDCAM EX Full HD 1920x1080.
I realized Auftrags-/Unternehmensfilme and movies for Web sites so far with a 150 series (which unfortunately is now broken) and was thus not really satisfied. Must be able to make beautiful and pans have variously as one that is the HD with a problem (choppy). Can also use any unreliable equipment, must be partly filmed in the pouring rain and the like, my Sony150 tolerate das ...
What do you think?
Has anyone with the above-mentioned PMW-EX1 experience?
It is particularly important to me that the Camera synonymous delivers good pictures in difficult lighting conditions that the autofocus is useful, that (although it is not a shoulder-mounted camera) can be synonymous to realize a steady hand shake from camera movements (ie without a tripod) and that the thing reasonably durable is (In case of rain, humidity, dust storm did not produce the same error messages and collapses).

Hundreds of thousands have experience with the camera. As a journalist, you should provide it to come closer to these experiences. One way to have tests. Your needs are covered, the EX1 is much too good. Features such as the autofocus will not improve with increasing price. Ruckeln BTW: that pans in HD, not true.

The SonyDSR-PD150P is outdated sowas of - because today I would not have to think more to it. But a tape drive is already questionable at the present time. In the EX1 you make sure nothing wrong - is a fine camera. Ggf. I would still be a shoulder support it (eg buy http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280442552165&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:DE:1123).

The fundamental question whether or Tape tapeless, I think not necessarily decisive ... Tape has its advantages and synonymous synonymous synonymous in the professional field has not yet quite obsolete tape ... Sooner or later, however, there will probably so. Probably sooner;)
When the memory card you need to hold you a little more to worry about archiving or have meaningful halt sufficient capacity hard disks:)
If you have the money you make with an EX1 or comparable Camera jedenfall wrong on anything.
As they sturdy concrete storm surge and rain when working I can not tell you - say vllt. because someone has experience with .... But there are no free rain covers for any eventuality.
