I'm looking for a video effect / transition that looks like a sheet of glass which shatters.

think the Windows Movie Maker has something - if the effect only once in the film needs, the two scenes then edit as a DV-AVI back into Premiere and out again ...

Hollywood FX has just one effect: The Picture shatters like a pane of the screen and plays the pieces fall down.

Media Studio Pro also has this effect. Have him occasionally applied.

Adobe AfterFX (7.0): "Effect / simulation / smash" on the video level. In effect then "form / pattern" to "glass" set. Are endless options .. Just play around a bit;)
