I can from my camcorder (Hi8) directly via the DV port on the PC to watch your movie without me this before on the hard drive copy? If so - what software do I need this?

I can hardly imagine that Dei Hi8 DV device a connection to have. Since clash analog and digital world together.
Otherwise, Google came to Hi8 or VHS digitizer.

you have an analog camcorder!

mist - have the wrong format (my old analog camcorder was .... now have a new). Is a digital camcorder with a small DV tape.
